I am so scared of myself.
I am incredibly unhappy and just plain miserable.
I don't know where to put this thread because I want to cut, I want to starve myself, and I want to scream and throw things I am not coping at all.
My thoughts are incoherent.

are you confused, or mad at yourself. Do you know why you have these feelings?

I have these feelings because everything is overwhelming me.
I need to lose weight to fit into my prom dress in four months.
The fact that I need to lose weight depresses me because I have so much to lose.
I want to cut because I am fat and I always will be.

I'm reminded of a quote by Winston Churchill "If you’re going through Hell, keep going." I've recently been really overwhelmed with how quickly I have to move to keep up with the world but I always keep this quote in my head, because if we're already here, might as well keep going till we reach a time or place in our lives where we are free of worry.

i heard that before an really liked it, it's so simple but makes so much sense.
Yes the simplicity makes it stick. I live my life by two quotes.
"If you’re going through Hell, keep going."
And
"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." By Neale Donald Walsch

katie, don't let it get to you, can't you just get a dress that fits a week or two before? it's nothing cutting will help and if you've dieted you know flat out starving yourself isn't an answer. you drop some pounds but then your metabolism fights back and progress stops. work out a sensible diet you can stick to and do an activity that you enjoy. i like to walk my dog and listen to music to relax.
all you can do is all you can do, you shouldn't beat yourself up because you can't do the impossible. what voice in you is telling you that you'll always be fat? a real friend wouldn't tell you that, so why are you listening?
when i first started gymnastics i was a pathetic awkward little thing. i always wanted to give up becos it was too hard. my instructor would tell me: whether you think you can, or think you can't, your right. and it's absolutely right, it's up to you, and you can do it. :)
I can't get a new dress because the one I am supposed to wear cost $200 so mum won't get me a new one.

can you... return it to the shop? exchange it at the shop for a diff size? sell it to someone that can use it and use the money to buy what will work closer to the date?
c'mon girl you got 4 months to make something work, you can do it!
I'll talk about it with my mum and see if I can sell it or something. Thanks for the advice.

You could try altering the dress size or getting your mum to. Starving and cutting yourself won't help. If you want to lose weight you need to use more energy than you put into your body. That way your body will start burning fat to compensate. Eat healthy and small serves. Throw in some activity that you enjoy doing that's going to get your heat rate up and you can do it.
Should you end up cutting, some pieces of advice from someone with cutting experience: Avoid arteries and veins or areas where they're close to the surface. Areas with lots of fat or muscle are good like the tops of arms, stomachs, thighs etc. Know that it can take several weeks for the cuts to completely disappear. Also keep an eye on them should you cut for signs of infection. i.e swelling, tenderness, redness, oozing etc. Also cut with something clean or sterile and keep the cuts clean until the skin knits its self back together.
