Okay so to start, I'm not really overweight, fat or anything such as that. Everyone says I'm skinny or slim and I guess I am but just not healthy.
What are some good workous to get toned abs and pecs (chest area)? I don't want to be super buff or have a six pack just a nice, hard flat pack maybe? I'm not that far from it but I haven't done anything really, just lost a lot of weight when I hit a growth spurt.

Eat good (diet literally is more important than exercises.)
Then focus on good core stability stuff and strength ab exercises, plank, situps, leg raises, crunches, etc.
For your chest, you can get a bigger chest with variations of regular, diamond, finger, etc type pushups.

all protein shakes do is help you get in your daily protein requirements if you cant get them all off solid foods, you don't need protein shakes to help you build muscle, there are just simply a food substitute

No you do not need protein shakes, you will get all of the protein you need just from food. That is the best place to get it anyways.
