iPod Touch: Good or Bad?

I'm thinking about buying an iPod Touch. I would like to get some opinions first though, so, do you like it or not? Please don't just say yes or no it sucks, give some reasoning behind your answer. Also, what kind of case would you recommend for it?

You could jailbreak it, but it voids your warranty so it's not worth it.

yeess i work at the apple store
1 they scrach very easely
2 they get rly dirty
3 if u have a lot of music its not a good buy
4 on the ipod tuch the warenty says two year but its not its 90 days
5 and they freze verry easely

1. The screen is glass, so almost scratchproof, and my video is scratched to hell.
2. Really dirty? Not if you clean it.
3. 16gb one can hold almost 4,000 songs, with bigger capacity models coming this year.
4. My iPod clearly states 1 year warranty.
5. Mine has never frozen and I've never heard of many others freezing.

Almost 2 weeks. And I've used it a lot. And my friend has had his for about 4 weeks and his has never frozen or anything.

Im have to agree with Rox...on everything. Although...mine did freeze up once. It was quickly resolved with a quick power down and then a restart. Otherwise I LOVE it! Also, space can kinda get tight if you have videos on too!

Yeah we'll they're bound to freeze up from time to time, I mean it's a computer, it's got a processor and ram, and it runs an OS, so its going to happen really lol.

I might Jailbreak mine, not sure yet though. If it goes wrong and you cant even resotre it, the warraty is void, so you're fucked lol.

Well as long as you can do a forced restore, (different from regular restore), then your still okay and they wont be able to tell it was jailbroken.

I'm not really sure my mate has one but I heard the screen gets scratched easy so u need to keep it in like a sleeve or a protective cover.

I love my iPod touch. I got it for Christmas. I got the 16gb one and downgraded the firmware to 1.1.1 and jailbroke it to use third party software and downloaded all of the toys and games to make it more fun. Which does void the warranty.
PLUS! You get free Wifi if you can find somewhere that has an unsecured network. I love that feature. Browsing the internet for free, beat that. It's great. I wish it had an MSN feature, but its a pretty cool little gadget. A bit pricey, but it was a gift from my parents. It's a good alternative to the iphone, which I can't get because I'm Canadian. (Well, you can, but its very hard to get working, I have a friend who has an iphone that he had to hack and it wasn't an easy task and there's a very high risk of wrecking the entire thing and it'd be a very expensive mistake)

If you don't have or don't neeed nor want a huge collection of music n vids
then i mean come on anything with the word touch in its fucking brilliant

its bascially the iphone so if u like the ipone it alright...i have the theird generation nano and it alright i liked the second but it died so i had to get a new one but personally i think the touches cost too much
