I feel like im becoming depressed. I haven't felt this way before but recently I've been sad and little things make me sad and things i hate about myself seem amplified and i cry at night because i feel like my life has no meaning.i don't feel suicidal though, so thats good. Im aware that there are people in my life who love me but i feel lonely nonetheless. It's me who i don't love and it sucks. I feel like im always doing something wrong and making people unhappy. It sucks:( I want this to end and i want to be happy...

I'm sorry you are feeling depressed. :( I've been through some tough times myself. Is there anything that is bothering you in specific? I know that you have mentioned about you not loving yourself. What do you not love about yourself?
The easiest way to beat depression is to catch it early on. You want to be able to acknowledge when you are sad before it becomes too much and you are sad all the time. Personally, when I am sad, I like to do something that will get my mind off of things. I like to listen to music and play games, and that will usually get my mind off of something that is bothering me. Do you have any hobbies that you like to do? Right now, I would avoid sitting at home or being alone. That is when you tend to start thinking bad thoughts and feeling sad. If you ever need help, you are always able to talk to a counselor or a friend.

I have to agree. It's not a good thing to sit around whenever you're feeling depressed because it does absolutely nothing except promote intrusive thoughts and cause you to focus more on insecurities and every little fault about yourself. Depression is never a matter of physical situation, but of mental and emotional perception, and it can suck.
You mentioned that right now you don't have the best self esteem. One thing I heard before, which is actually obvious despite never thinking about it, is that the best way to boost self esteem is to perform "esteemable" acts. Usually that translates to helping others. Maybe supporting friends, giving advice, or doing some community service. An alternative, if you don't have the option of conveniently helping others, would be to focus on interests or hobbies you have and extend upon them. It always feels great to accomplish something, so if you learned more about an interest you have in your free time that would be a great way to gain that sense of achievement. Similarly, you could put your hobbies or interests to good use in helping others.
I wish you luck in combating your depressive phase. I know you can overcome it. :)

Hey man.
You need to learn yourself like you would to a normal person. It's probably one of the biggest lessons I learned in my life.
Let me tell you my story. In middle school, I was not officially diagnosed as being depressed but man I knew I was. I was so depressed that I was not able to focus on school, every day seemed blue, and I thought I had ADHD or something. How did I get depressed? It's simple. I just isolated myself from everybody to feel better but it made it worst. It didn't solve anything. Eventually, I got out of my depression when I started being with the people that made me happy. Those were my middle school friends and they got me out of a rough time. Have friends you can vent and talk to! If you have guy friends, find some girl friends to talk to. Most of the time girls are better listeners than guys.
I understand what you are going through. Every day seemed like a terrible drag, there is no point in anything, you lose interest in things you used to love...But hang in there bro. I don't know your entire situation but please consider me. Love yourself. Don't beat yourself up for screwing up one day. We're not perfect and that is okay.
If you want to build your self-esteem up start off with little goals. (I plan to eat healthier for today, and then do that! If you don't, you'll be disliking yourself for not meeting up to your expectations. If you don't meet an expectation, don't beat yourself up but just realize you should try to meet your goal of being healthier. Think of yourself as being a friend. Would you verbally abuse your friend and say you're worthless, etc?)
Another thing I do regularly is keeping a journal. I write when I need to vent my feelings. I write my insecurities, why I have it, etc. Don't forget the wins though! Celebrate and embrace your wins for the day. Write down your victories. It doesn't matter how small it is. Don't think negatively. Think positive! :)
The last thing I will have to tell you is this. Have this idc attitude towards life. If it's people who pressure you to be a certain way, or your parents who are disappointed...Have that IDGAF attitude! Obviously, don't do this if your parents are rational and kind but if all a person is doing is keeping you down, just ignore it! You should find joy from the inside of you. Don't be someone else but be you. Be your best you!
I hope this helps. Feel free to message me :-)

Thanks for your concern:) i think the reason im feeling this way is the enormous stress that my parents put on me towards school. They think its school thats stressing me out when it's them. The big reason i think is because im overweight. A lot of people tell me that my appearance is fine but i just feel like they're lying. My younger sisters both are thin and i get jealous. I might have BDD which is basically a mental disorder that makes me see something in the mirror that most people don't see of me. People always tell me that im pretty but i don't see it. But I really hope this depression is temporary. I like to draw and listen to music so that can help me. Thanks again:)

Yea:/ the bad thing is though is thats mostly what i do. My parents are so strict on me studying, i barely have a social life. I definitely need to start gaining self esteem. I need to start that by losing weight. Im joining some clubs at school like unity for all club and link crew, so hopefully that helps. Thanks for believing that i can overcome this, it helps:)

Oh, that'll be a great thing to do. I know you have the determination to lose the weight and that's a great idea to join clubs at school! It'll give you more to do and your parents can't say no because they're school-related. :3

Thanks for sharing your story:) when dealing with a new situation sometimes you feel alone, so i appreciate you sharing. Drawing helps me so im gonna do that more often. Im afraid, however, that i will start putting self down, but ill try not to. Ill try to keep a journal. That seems like it will help, thanks!
