I rode a train today... FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!

So, today I went to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago (And a few other places.) But I had never been on a train before! So I was like, "Mom, I'm not going unless we take a train..." So we ended up taking the South Shore Line (NICTD) to Museum Campus and went to a couple places...

Then me and 2 guys I met on the first train took Chicago's "Metra" from millenium station back to Museum Campus/11th and then caught a South Shore Line (NICTD) back to Indiana...

AND THE WHOLE TIME IM LIKE... "THIS IS SOOO COOL!!!" now... if only I could ride a train EVERYDAY!!!! :D

I think I've been on jets more times then trains. Kinda iron if I know, especially since Portland has a fairly extensive light rail system. It's just rarely the convenient option.

I take the Metra Electric almost everyday, I was on it Thursday & Friday. I got off at Museum Campus to go to the Blackhawks rally

South Shore is fun to ride too, from Chicago to South Bend is a nice long ride, feels like your on Amtrak but your not

I take a train everyday during school. I live in NY and go 5 stops and get off and walk to school. 3 others get on with me. My mom buys my monthly ticket for the fare(it is a school ticket). I get like the same conductor and we sit in the same seats everyday.I have gotten to know the people around me that get on. Like a extended family..

Im so jealous of those of you that ride a train frequently!! It was so much fun! I met some new people. and seen places i didnt even knew existed... I think the ongoing joke was how I mis read the stop at Hegewisch as Hogwarts... XD

I've lived in NYC my entire life, so the subway system is a daily routine for me, especially in the winter when I can't ride my bike everywhere, but when I was in China I rode like a real cabin train with bathroom and beds. The train just kept going for so long you had no choice to bump around on the bunkbed! Oh, and the best part was this man with a ramen cart who would come barreling down the corridor. It felt strangely like a chinese hogwarts.

The NYC subway system is dirty and getting so expensive, so I mostly ride it during the school year when they give us student metrocards so it's completely free. I refuse to spend $20 a day riding something that smells like old sweat and trash on a 96 degree day; I love the entertainment though :)

Im surprised so many of you havent been on a train! :O
When I was at uni i started using it regularly every weekend from dorm to home on friday, and back on sunday,
I alwayssss went on the midnight trains, it was a little spooky but its amazing experience!!!!!
Now I ride London tube as often as i walk on my legs, LITERALLY :)
Lately, I also used those super fast trains, when i went to see my friend in middle england or when i went to glastonbury festival by the Bristol, it was amazing, such a beautiful countryside!!!! /but i had to keep my eyes closed when we were still in the london, imagine train going as fast as road runner and theres all kinds of poles and bridges right next to you, you'd get dizzy by looking at that haha
