spam/adverts/fake acount thingies

okay so this is a bit of a different question, but there are those spam acounts right, that are only here to post advertising posts with links to scertain websites etc...

What is up with the messages they are posting? Its literaly just a bunch of random words, making a very strange random story with a few links in it ._.

Generally that is what Spam is, it can come in the form or just as a regular looking post. However it could also be that with all those weird looking symbols and words is how they are bypassing the recent mod we installed to prevent people form posting links (without 5 posts).

Yea, but what I mean is that it often looks like its a story, but once you read it its just like :
"medieval boot saga, I went to jim harry potter (LINK) last night, devil wears prada and then we had FABULOUS icecream (LINK) SALES 50% off on all: hey just so you know white houses"

if you know what I mean, just randon words forming a story that doesn't make any sens.

That's what spam is. They're programmed to have real words so it doesn't look like spam if you glance over it quickly.

The spammers target high-ranking sites in order to get their links be popular in the eyes of search engines. For the rest, it might have been actual symbols in Chinese(a lot of spammers are there), but was not sent to this server properly, and became the mangled mess you see.

i hate those things! idk why but they really seriously sincerely piss me off more than anything I can think of. I always report them when i see them. i notice i haven't seen them in a while so i guess the policy of no links unless you have posted at least 5 times is working. since these spammers sometimes posted their crap 10 or 15 times before they were banned I was afraid that the "at least 5 posts" rule wouldn't be enough but it lookis like it's working. Yay!!!!!!! idk who had that idea but I bow down to you :worthy:

Well the good news is the administration recently installed a modification that was better than the first modification and since then we've only had a few spam attacks and it would appear those spam attacks have been human assisted, meaning it could bypass the modifications the administration have installed.
