hey guys, long time to see, anyways I was just wondering, I have a pretty bad ear infection, I am on 1500mg of amoxicillin daily for it, I started the amoxicillin yesterday and have only taken about 4 or 5 pills so far(I got started mid day and they have to be spread out by 6 hours) I take 500mg 3 times a day. I was just wondering when they might start taking effect, I work everyday and with the fact the my ear hurts it is affecting everything else and it is hard to stand straight and focus. is there any kind of home remedy I can do until the pain subsides? I have been trying a heating bad on my ear at night to help me fall asleep and it seems to work but I was wondering what I could do in the morning to get me through the day. Any ideas?

Hi,
I haven't heard of anything other than simply putting a hot water bottle against your ear (I used to do that as I had them every other month when I was young and I couldn't always see a doctor that quickly)
However I did find this site on google.

Maybe it can help.

There's also the hot oil option where you pour the oil into your ear, obviously not too hot and it'll clear any problems you have. My mum used to do that to me, and it seemed to work whenever I got ear infections. I do see on the link Derri posted that it's a remedy too so.
