Drums =D (Small survey)

Hey guys, just wondering who else here is playing / learning to play the drums? I myself can play them, I just need to practice different patterns. I'm basically teaching myself to play as I find it's easier to find my own technique to drum than follow someone else.

So how did you learn to play the drums?
How long have you been playing for?
Did you have lessons?

By drums do you mean the drum set or any type of percussion drums like congas?

I guess I always really like music and I always found rhythm easy so I started playing, loved it. I'm working on grade 8 and I like to expand my style a lot by listening to different genres and different drummers. My biggest influences are John bonham, because of his heavy yet simple style and epic fills, the Rev's ability to make a fill seem heavyweight by adding double Kick drum and joey jordison for his insane ability and style, all are worth a listen
