Okay so my mom was diagnosed with a rare disease called vasculitis, she's had trouble with it for a year now it makes her really sick. Well her new doctor called yesterday and said she needs to be admitted into the hospital so her doctor can run some testing because my mom is having new symptoms and is really sick. They said she'll be admitted for a week and this hospital is far away and my dad is going with her. I have severe separation anxiety and I have a huge responsibility while they are away. I have to take care of my mom's orphaned tea cup yorkie puppy, this puppy is her life and we have spent weeks trying to help it survive cause we lost it's mother two days after the puppy was born. But I feel like i cant handle it on my own and i dont want to be responsible if something bad happens while i'm taking care of her puppy. I dont know what to do!!! I'm so dperessed and worried about my mom.

I'm so sorry to hear your mother is go through such a difficult time. When loved ones get sick it affects everyone in different ways. However, I don't know much about separation anxiety, but just keep reminding yourself that you're doing this for your mom. You're taking care of her puppy and yourself for her. She'll be back before you know it, hopefully feeling better, and happy to see you've taken care of things. It isn't as big of a responsibility as it seems, so don't get yourself overwhelmed. Hope things go well. :)

When I was a little younger my mom was sick and had to have a number of surgeries and extended hospital stays. I know how rough it can be. The biggest thing to keep in mind here is that she is going to be admitted for a week -- she is not being kept for an indefinite amount of time -- there is a set day for her release. Your parents will be back home before you know it and you'll be able to see that you're strong enough and independent enough to take care of yourself and the puppy. I'm so sorry to hear that your mother is ill, I wish her and your family the best with everything and I'm sure she's proud to see you taking care of yourself and the dog.
