Just tell him to back off, you aren't interested and he needs to stop bothering you about it. If you want to remain friends tell him that, if you don't, tell him that. Or, you could just ignore him until he gets the message but that's rude, and you didn't want to be.

just click the ignore button and eventually he will forget about you...or, you know, give the guy a chance. The worst thing that you'll get is a nice evening, who knows, maybe youll like him

Cece, I have been where you are right now. Explain to him, nicely, that it won't work, and you just don't like him. Don't lie or date him anyways, he's a human and deserves more respect than that. Tell him something along the lines of "Name, you're a nice guy, but I really don't like you romantically. While you [are|could be] a good friend, I don't think a romantic relationship is right for us. Please respect me on this." If he pushes further, continue to reiterate that point. If he backs you into a figurative corner, then say something like
"Name, this is final. We are not getting involved, in a relationship or even as friends as this point. Please stop texting me, delete my number, and if you text me again, I will not answer." Then follow through. But decency should always be your first option.

Just tell him to back off and ignore all communication unless face to face, in which answer him with the same simple answer of "No" and "Go away" eventually he'll take the hint. If he doesn't then let an adult know because if he's harassing you, then they'll likely put a stop to it.

keep politely saying no, but if he really doesn't get it, be a bit more forceful. Tell an adult if it gets really bad.
