Is high school sex common?

Last night i found out that one of my friends that's a girl has had sex with her last two boyfriends. She feels bad about and it was a situation where she felt safe but was then dumped. I'm 17 and have no clue what's normal because I stay away from sex and drugs. But is it common for kids to have sex and in my friends case feel used?

Yes it sure is... I no some girls that think and feel bad because the guy just used them for sex and that was it.

It has been common for decades now, but now is no longer taboo to actually admit it. Most teenagers have had sex at least once by the time they reach 18 now. And yes it is also common to feel, and most time being, used by the opposite sex.

I for once was used as a badge of honor when I was a junior at high school, not a second time though ;).

Don't get me wrong, I too wanted to know what it felt like to screw a senior. :P nevertheless I felt used.

When you feel in love you do stupid things. Maybe the second guy threaten her with leaving her unless...

It holds a very high amount of power over people, especially with teenagers. There is pressure from media, friends and society for us to develop into adults and one of the main ways to do is by having sex

It may be common, BUT nonetheless that does mean you should follow the crowd.

I'm glad I misread the topic because I thought the topic was about teens being intimate at their High School.
Sadly -- it's even common in later years of Elementary school and even Middle School. It sucks your friend felt used by her 2 exes but from what I hear Casual sex -- hookups -- or no strings attached sex is more common than from a relationship. It's a personal choice and even if it seems like others are doing it -- there's nothing wrong to wait until 1 is emotionally -- physically -- and financially ready to make the decision to give up something so precious.
