In case you guys don't know RICE stands for Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements.
So in a nutshell, they are mainly slow cars such as front-wheel drive Honda Civics and Chevrolet Cavaliers found in North America and Europe. They have body mods like spoilers, catback exhaust (fart cannon), cheap body kits, fake vents, and motorsport stickers for parts like intercoolers that the car doesn't actually have.
Despite the name, the car can be any nationality. That means it can be a Chevrolet or a Hyundai. Hell there are riced out Peugeots and Opels out there.
I bring up this topic because there are soo many of them in my town, and the 16 and 17 year old kids think they're unstoppable in their economy cars that look like this:
http://i.imgur.com/iRjNL.jpg
It's not the design of the car that bugs me. People can do whatever they like. It's just that all the kids I know that spend 500 bucks doing this to their car think their top shit, and they beat on everyone else because in their opinion, other peoples' cars are "stupid." Can anyone relate?

lol in china almost all cheap cars have ridiculous WRC stickers, and they pretend to be 'fast' which is complete nonsense since they've only got microscopical 1.4s. But nothing can be done. Some people chose to 'personalize' their cars whether it looks good or not. It's an expression of their style.

I can most definitely relate. I've seen some pretty shockingly modified cars and just don't understand why they did it lol

Another problem I have with the ones I see here is the fact that they have mufflers like this:

They sound awful!

over here aftermarket exhausts are supposedly banned(for 'environmental concerns' and terrible build quality), but they are still used a lot and are just terrible. I mean, sounding like a V8 doesn't mean it'll go faster in the same way painting go-faster stripes on the bonnet doesn't make a car go any faster.

Ya honestly I would rather have a car with alot of power and speed the looks like shit than a escort with $1000 worth of body kits.

I happen to like most Ricers. I like the look. I love customization when it's done right.

These are all good examples of good customization on both FF and FR types, they look really nice in my opinion. If you have the money to make sure the paint matches, and everything fits right, Great. Becomes even better if you have done some engine work on it. :3

Cars like that (Skyline's, Silvias, etc...) are illegal here in the states. :(

I like all of those. Well except for the Cavalier. I dislike those as cars though... All the rest are really nice! The Civic is very nice.

Also, Silvias were brought to America in the s13&&s14 models, under the name 240sx. Same exact car.
Both the Skyline r32 and Silvia s15 are able to be imported to America for a fee. Silvia is easier and cheaper than Skyline.
I personally, prefer the s14 Silvia(240sx) Kouki, to both the Skyline and s15. So I'm content on buying an s14.

They don't meet our safety standards. If I recall, one of the problems with the Skyline is that it using a Plastic gastank instead of a metal one.

All modern cars have plastic gas tanks. And it wouldn't be illegal in the whole usa because every state has different requirements for safety.

ok so i saw the subject in the list of posts and i put my cursor over it to get a summary of what it was and all i saw was the part i quoted above and i didn't know you meant Race like car racing. I thot holy crap! what kind of crazy plastic surgery is this? White people getting surgery to look Asian? Asians getting surgery to look Black? Blacks getting surgery to look white? wtf??? I was gonna make all kinds of indignant comments and then I read about Hondas and stuff and was all what does this have to do with plastic surgery? I finally figured out what you were talking about. now i feel like a dope :whoops:

Really? 0-0 That's bothersome.
I don't like the idea of plastic. xD
Every state has different laws, but it's illegal in the USA. We have DOT Safety and Emission Laws. They don't have the Skyline in the USA because of the DOT laws and regulations. It doesn't pass the crash test or emission standards, and the front and rear bumpers arent reinforced enough for US DOT standards.

It might not be in production in America but that doesn't mean you can't import one if you wanted to. Were I live in WV if your car didn't have catalytic converters on it stock then you don't have to have them to pass inspection and I've seen diesels pass that bliw enough black smok

I never said you couldn't import them. I said they're illegal in the states, which they are. Stock.
They're not legal to have on US roads without being converted to our base safety and emission standards. Once they're converted to DOT standards, it then has to be further converted to follow your states laws.
