So I'm really upset, I have this problem that stops me from being able to have sex. When I started going to the Gynecologist she discovered when she was doing routine check ups and tried doing pap smears but she said there was a membrane blocking the opening i should have but don't because my hymen is so thick. Problem is i had sex once and it didn't break my hymen and i tried having sex with someone i like last night and couldn't because of this stupid problem. I feel embarrassed and stupid and upset because i feel like one of those women who cant get pregnant but feels like they lack a quality every woman should have. I should be able to have sex. Ugh. The gynecologist said i probably need surgery to open me up a bit. Great. Has anyone else have this same thick hymen problem?:confused:

I have a friend with the same problem and she was told she'd need surgery to correct it as well. She intends to do it one day but not until she meets a guy she think is worth it.

a freind of mine had that surgury done, she said it's no big deal. she didn't deed to be put to sleep or anythng, the doctor just gave her a local anesthetic, and then opened it up, it didn't take long at all, and it didn't hurt at all the next day.

That was not how I imagined it at all. I thought I was gonna have to be put under and I was thinking it would be very painful. But I hope it's not going to be like that. I'm going to call my doctor and see about the surgery cause when i try to have sex it is way too painful and disappointing for both me and my partner. But thank you for your reply!
