Well, Like ^^ said. Usually for a first date, people go out for a movie, dinner, or bowling/golf. It depends on what the guy/girl wants to do. If you wanted to go out, ask the person what they like to do. Gook luck!:]

^^ Or he could just be clueless. It doesn't necessarily imply that he plans on asking someone out, in fact, I think it implies the opposite. But what Jessica said is right on. Most people go to the movies/dinner/bowling/golf/an amusement park/etc.. A good place to go is probably the movies, as it doesn't cost that much, and your date can make certain decisions like what movie you're going to watch, what food to buy, what drink to buy, etc.. Though I have very little experience in dating so I'll just shut up now and crawl back into my hole. :)

If she likes sports you can get tickets to a game. or if she's into music take her to a concert. Stuff like that.

^^ Ooh, yeah, I completely forgot about that. But as everyone else said, you should do something she's into, not pressure her into something you want to do (especially on the first date, if you've been going out for a long time, thats probably an okay thing to do, but still I don't recommend it).

Also its good not to come across as cheap. Not saying you have to spend extravagant, but don't act as if you're counting pennies. The important thing is not to spend so much til you go broke, but don't be dirt cheap. You have to find a balance and invest a little :P
