I'm Short??

I'm 13 years old and I'm only 4'11. All of the guys in my family, including my Dad are over 6 feet tall, but my mom is 5,3...does that have anything to do with it? :confused: And I was the shortest kid in 7th grade, including the guys and girls. Is this normal?

Genetics is everything to do with factors like height, but on the other hand you're only 13 you still have a few years to potentially grow

Don't worry about it to much, you'll never know when you'll have a growth spurt. You'll likely be taller than your mom or dad or even both. People grow at different paces. :cool:

My best friend in 8th grade, he was 13, was about the same height as you... Now he's 16 and about 5'9" so you still have time to grow

Genes can effect a lot of pieces of ur dna wich they build everythin about u
Ur apperances the way u think ur dialect and so on
So u will get taller but basing on the combined dna of ur 6,0 and ur 5,3 u could anywher in the pool of 5,7 to 5,5

I was the shortest kid in my year when I was 13, now I'm the tallest at 16, growth spurts happen at different times for everyone.

No one knows. You could end up 6.5 ft or 5.5 ft.

Your genetics determine all that type of stuff.

all depends on genes. u might get your dad or your moms height. u might even get your grandparents height

You're totally normal, and because your 13 you have nothing to worry about. The shortest kids from junior high many times end up becoming huge in high school. You probably have not started puberty, yet, but I would not worry because you're like in 7th grade, and you have a lot of time to start growing. Even if you start growing later (sophomore year), you're still fine because there are a ton of guys just like you. Your situation is temporary, and you'll be fine. Enjoy being your size for now because chances are you don't have to worry about body maintenance issues that the big guys have like body odor, hair, etc.
