I would get the s4. If you like screen size, ability, customizability, and raw monstrous power at your fingertips. The camera is better, the battery is better, the OS is more powerful, the processor/hardware scores twice the performance than the ip5 on geekbench benchmarks.

The s4 > ip5 hands down. It's no competition at all.

Go with the S4, but personally it would be a much smarter choice to save the money and get an S3, the features that are present in the S4 and not the S3 are quite useless.

iOS is lovely because of its stability, but the S4 is so innovative whereas Apple has made barely any progression... If you're fairly competent with technology I'd go for the S4. Or, better still, wait until the Nexus version of the S4 comes out?

Honestly, I have a strong hate against iPhone users, because, in my opinion, they are overrated. I would honestly go with the Galaxy S4, the technology is great, and if you are looking to impress people, that is the phone to get. I know this information because I have the Galaxy S2.

The only thing that apple has going for it is that it's Apple.. That little silver logo on the back makes it better then the s4... That's why I always have and always will go apple.

I would say that this was because of Brand Loyalty, but for a shiny sticker to make you buy a product is ridiculous. They could market a piece of plastic and people like you would buy it for a high price because of a logo, which is moronic.

I have the same decision coming up. what about apps? someone told me that lots of apps are only for iphone and not available for galaxy. is that true?

Not really, iPhone's appstore is expensive, while you can get the same apps on an android phone for free, such as angry birds.

no it's not moronic, I don't care about the price tag, I just care whether I have a better phone than the person next to me, and apple is always considered the best even if its not

I was going to get an iPhone, but decided to leave my apple trend and go for an S4, and so far I absolutely love it to bits, by far the of the best choices I have ever made. The specs completely crush the iPhone, and it is also cheaper. The S4 has some amazing features and the customisability is great. GET AN S4!

This is a reason why I tend to avoid Apple products. It's unfair, but I don't want to be judged or labeled by the "serious" tech community that looks down upon Apple users for this reason.

"Better" by the same people that buy Apple products despite their inferior specs and higher price tags because you want to fit in to the social clique that is "rich Apple users." Apple is not always considered the best, especially among the community that actually cares about advancements technology.

Honestly, this is how everyone should buy any product: quality and price. Most brands have a reputation for each; for Apple, it's pretty high quality (9/10) for a pretty high price. For a brand like Samsung, it's also high quality (9, 9.5/10) for a much lower price.

In this instance, I would STRONGLY recommend the Samsung Galaxy S4 over the Apple iPhone. I've played with both, and recently purchased the S4 and have absolutely no regrets. It's definitely a worthy investment (mine was a gift) and I've loved every second I've had it. It has all the apps that you could get on an iPhone, the Android system is (in my opinion) supeiror to the iOS , and it's better received among the technologically savvy community.

But whichever phone you decide to get, make sure you're happy with it. Don't get something just because we told you to get it; get it because you wanted it. I will just add that when I was getting the phone, the worker at Best Buy said that more people were converting from iPhone to S4 than vice-versa. But again, it's up to you.

No it's not. It's basically the Fisher Price of cell phones.

S4 is just overly complicated like all other android phones are.

Unless you're 4 years old, it's pretty easy to figure out the phone without instructions. And even if you do have trouble, the tech support for Samsung is great.

If its the fisher price of cell phones i guess i'm a kid because i would rather have an easy to use inter-phase that lays everything out for me, than trying to navigate the complicated android OS who by the way names its software after food...because that's not childish. While yes you can eventually figure it out, with the iPhone you know how to use it from the get go. Not to mention the quality that the custom optics in the iPhone 5 camera provides. Its just an all around better phone. And with the upcoming release of iOS 7 android just cant compare.

idk about the original poster but i have decided to go for the S4. i also read some comparison reviews online. my dad says i can upgrade phones on july 7th so just 5 days to go. i hate waiting tho now that i made up my mind. i want it NOW lol

I have no idea how anyone could think Android OS is complicated. There's a bit more options/customization than the iPhone, so I guess that's what you're referring to?

Apple/Macintosh... (not software, but it's not like sticking the letter "i" in front of anything is more creative than "Gingerbread" and "Jelly Bean")

Not to mention the quality that the custom optics in the iPhone 5 camera provides.

If I wanted a nice camera, I'd buy a nice camera.

Its just an all around better phone.

Based on many reviews and comparisons, most people would disagree.

I MUCH prefer the S3 over the Iphone 5. I like how it's dependable like an Iphone yet still innovative. A Lot more innovative than the iphone 5

And that's why Apple is so rich, getting money off gullible people who think because it is expensive it is better. Just think, a Nokia 3310 (brick) is really cheap, and is much better than the iPhone 5.

Better depends on user experience. Not specs or anything else. iPhone 5 here. Android is too much *pizzaz* If you want a smooth, integrated experience where everything 'just works' then iPhone 5, otherwise if you want extreme customisation and a very large screen, the S4.
Depends upon taste. Go to a Samsung and Apple store and see them for yourself then buy what you like...

Now, I'm a big Apple fan, although between the two, I'd rather have the S4. It's screen size, power and pretty much everything in general, trumps the iPhone- in my opinion. I would much rather have the S4 over the iPhone. It's been a couple of weeks since you said you're going to get one, what did you settle on in the end?

I got..................................................the Galaxy S4! And it's just awesome! I love it! I loved my iPhone 4, and I know I would like the 5 too, but the S4 is just great!

S4 for sure.
More features, better screen, better cpu/gpu. Also, iOS pales in comparison to Android. Still very good build quality, although the plastic is a little cheap.
