I have been in a relationship with my boy friend for quite a while now and I always knew he had depression, last year he had it very bad and he attempted suicide (this is before he met me ) and then fall last year he went on antidepressants since the start of this year he has been feeling so much better and its been great to have the real him back, last week he decided to come off the antidepressants but stopped suddenly , yesterday I noticed he was acting weird and today he has been terrible.
The thing is with us we are actually in a long distance relationship (he's in America I'm in England) and today I was texting him waiting for him to get up and when he woke up he said I missed you loads and I put I missed you to, then he put I'm not very good today don't worry and I said why what's happening I asked the normal questions and then he said I'm sad I need some time to my self, then later he picked up again doing really well he said he could Skype me so we skyped and we were talking for about 10 minutes then he went pale I said are you OK and he said I think I need to go now and I said OK and he said he would text me so we went and I asked him what's wrong and he said he was sad again and needed to be on his own.
Im just so worried about him so I did loads of research on antidepressants and it says the withdrawal symptoms are the same as what he is experiencing so he agreed with me and his parent he would start to wean himself off them slowly, but he has been off them a week so I just hope that will work.
I suppose my real question is what can I do to help and support him right now ? And if anyone else has any advice regarding antidepressants I would love to hear it,
