Hormones are chemicals released from cells to cause a change in other cells in another part of the body. Common uses are for growth, sexual activity and to prepare the body for another stage of life. For example, testosterone is a hormones released in males to initiate growth during puberty and, before and after puberty, to prepare the body for sexual activity and to release pheromones to attract a mate.

WHAT.

They are just a sort of chemicals, released mainly in the brain and reproductive system.
They are used for stuff like growth and sexuality.

It's released usually from the brain. Testosterone for boys and estrogen for girls is what drives our growth. When it starts releasing derives when we go though puberty, which is why, if males havent really started by the age of 16, it's a common comment to go to the doctor to get injections. There's also a massive release of chemicals in our brain when we orgasm (that bingo moment) which is why our mood and feelings change after that point.

It depends. For example, growth hormones are released from the pituitary glands, testosterone from the testicles, FSH and LH from the ovaries and adrenaline from the adrenal glands.

Great answers everyone, not much I can add in. Oh, testosterone is forums in the testicles, that's why if you cut out a dogs or whatever they no longer go through dog-puberty :p. Hormones are just like another chemical called Adrenaline, which you get from doing something scary or über fun, or dangerous,( I'm hoping you've heard of it) people can get seriously addicted to the feeling that adrenaline gives you, (dare devils/adrenaline junkies) just like how there are sex addicts. They work in the same way, you jump out of a plane, it feels great, you jump into bed ;) it feels great.
Hope this kind of helps further.
Ps there is no bone in the penis

They are made in various places, such as your testicles and your brain.
