I want to get a 4th Gen Mustang(my favorite). I also want to learn to work on cars.
Would a 4th Gen Mustang be an easy/cheap car to learn to work on, or are they difficult?

What I've learned is that with the internet basically any car is decent to learn on. The key to this is finding a good forum that is specific to that car, or ones similar to it. For example, I learned on a 1997 Subaru Legacy, I found a forum that is specifically Subaru Legacies, many of which are the same generation as mine. That was very helpful, it was a place to ask questions, see pictures of my exact car, and be able to talk to people who know about that exact car, not just cars in general.
With that said, less electronics generally = easier to work on. So something from 1983 is going to be a lot easier than 2003, however, with the dedication to learning, and being willing to spend some time on it learning on a car like that shouldn't be too difficult...

I'm good with electronics, so I don't see that being much of a problem.
It's just that I know certain cars are more difficult than others to work on.

Right. The more difficult ones have electronics, or more complicated systems. Usually Euro cars are more difficult to work on.
As far as the electronics go, being good with them doesn't mean a whole lot unless you know your way around an engine very very well. When it comes to learning to work on something, older is easier. If I get a chance I'll take a picture under the hood of my truck and my friend's. I have a 1949 Chevrolet Pickup, he has a 1999. You'll see the difference, it makes no sense to learn on the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado when you can learn on something pre-1980. It is much easier, then once you know engines backwards and forwards you can start getting more complicated, otherwise it is just like jumping in the deep end without knowing how to swim...
