I wouldn't use it, but if you do, Be careful. It's VERY easy to get things that aren't what they claim to be. There are viruses everywhere.
Someone on another forum posted about downloading Limewire, then using it to download the pro edition. They then opened the file that claimed to be the pro edition, and it infected his machine with a little over 3000 viruses.

As long as you're not downloading thousands of songs all the time and selling them on, you're not going to get caught. Your ISP can detct is there is a surge in your P2P usage though.

The police search your computer..
But I mean that's only if you're doing extreme downlaoding.

Trust me, you wont get caught. Millions and I mean MILLIONS of people use P2P software and thats the least of the FBI's or whoevers problems.

Yes it is. The choice is yours if you want to break the law. You may get caught, you may not. Its a risk you'd be taking.

It depends on what you use it for. If you download Free/open source software, or other similar things, then no, it's not illegal. But, if you use it to pirate and download copyrighted software, music, videos, etc, then yes, it is illegal, and although the chances of getting caught are slim, they're not zero. It IS still possible that you could get caught, the chance is just very low. But, don't believe you're immune.
And, it's not just the FBI that goes after people. RIAA is a huge one. There are others too. And, don't think they only go after people who download thousands upon thousands of songs. It's more common, but not always true. They have gone after people that supposedly only downloaded a few.
Do a search on the RIAA. They don't care who you are, what you've done, or even IF you've done it, if they find you, they WILL go after you. They don't have any rhyme or reason to their workings. They've sued people that are dead, children, people who haven't done anything wrong, etc.
Just be warned of the possible ramifications.

You seriously have to be a big downloader to get caught Im mean anything under 20 songs a day should keep it low enough for ur isp not to notice heavy p2p download rate.

You just need to look at the file size and if you cant preview the song its normally a virus.
