What is your opinion is of American President Ronald Reagan and British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher? This conservative duo essentially ran the free world's government for almost the entire 1980s.
What makes it interesting is how similar their philosophy was. Together, these best friends used their free market principals to turn an economic recession in their countries into an economic boom. And perhaps more importantly, they worked together to defeat the evils of the USSR and the threats posed by their nuclear weapons, winning the Cold War. And in the process of all this, they stregthaned the crucial alliance of the US and the UK. The Iron Lady and Reagan are now regarded by some as among the best of history's leaders.

I do think Thatcher was good however Reagan? He was a completely evil person towards the people of Latin America, seriously the US has been the only country charged with terrorism in the west hemisphere because of his cruelty towards every other country southwards. You do not smuggle weapons to anti-leftist groups to kill dictators, even if it meant a downfall of the USSR.

If the dictators werent gotten rid of, the USSR would not have been taken down!

Yes but killing dictators doesn't mean you should train the military on the art of torturing civilians.

That is true, like Nagasaki and Hiroshima: why kill the civilians if the dictators and leaders are the ones in charge of their government

When people say the "Western" world they are generally reffering to the US, Canada, Nothern/Western Europe, Japan/South Korea, and Australia/ New Zealand It essentially means all of the developed world.

Both of them were great leaders who did a lot of good for their countries. But neither of them could have triumphed against the Soviets on their own. The warmth of their relationship is what won the Cold War.

Change into what? Communism? The dreams of Lenin and Marx for a perfect communist utopia contradicts human nature. That's impossible to achieve.
Capitalism is far from perfect, but it's a hell of a lot better than the totalitarian regimes in the USSR and other Cold War era communist countries. Before you say the USSR wasn't what real communism is really about, let me say that every attempt to achieve " real " communism has either ended in disaster, or the regimes stay in power by oppressing the people.
So yeah, I'd prefer to keep things like this than be governed by a Stalin-esque figure.

Did you even read what I said? I never implied that communism is totalitarian, and I didn't say anything about whether or not Stalin was a communist.
Let me rephrase what I said: Things will always calm down to dictators like Stalin who will oppress the people. Communism, as perfect as it is in theory, can never work in practice.
Edison was a dust particle conpared to Tesla
I agree with you on this one, though.

Both were fantastic conservative leaders, if only they could be here today. Plus, you can't ignore the fact that the Iron Lady and the Teflon President sound perfect together.
