Ok so a couple days ago I was driving and a cop pulled me over. I just figured id get a warning because I was just driving through town and I was going like 30 and the speed limit is 25. I know the cop that pulled me over because I go to school with his daughter and I've talked to him a few times. When he came up to my window he asked me to get out off my truck and I had no clue what was going on. He asked me if I had any thing in my pockets that he should no about and I said no.he told me to put everything I had in me onto the hood of his car so I put my phone and wallet down and he picks up my wallet and starts to go through it. I was scared because I had a suboxone wrapped up in it. So when he finds it he asks me why I lied to him and if there was anything in my truck. He told me to sit on the sidewalk and then went through my truck were luckily there wasn't any thing else.he then told me to stand up and he tells me I'm being arrested for schedule 3 drug possession and he took me into the sheriffs department and I had to get put on file. I was released after about a 2 hours and they told me that he was only going to press a misdimear charge for drug possession and were I live any drug charge requires court and they set the date for next month. I know someone had to have told them I use drugs but only a couple of my friends know I use and the ones who know do it to. I dont know what to expect in court or if I'll get probation because of it and im worried that my friends parents will get in trouble to because I've been living with them bevause I got kicked out a few weeks ago. If anyone else has been through this and can tell me what to expect I'd appreciate it.

Drug charges are a very serious offense, you seem to be getting off lightly since its only a misdemeanor.

What you can expect when you go to court is a hefty fine, the fine most likely will range from $1,000-$2,000 and you will probably be set on probation, which will mean you will have a weekly drug test to go to, if you fail that drug test, you would immediately be sent to prison. You may also expect to get a community service.

The officer was actually wrong to enter your vehicle unless he asked you, officers are pretty sneaky cause they'll sound like its a demand, when in reality they're asking if they can search your vehicle. They may phrase it like this "I'm going to have to search is vehicle, do you have any objections to this?" And if you answer "I do not give you permission to search my vehicle", legally, they cannot search it or else they could get into serious trouble.

Since you we're arrested that should be a good sign. You'll probably just get probation and community service
