Hey guys, i'm not sure what to do here, I just installed Minetest; a remix of Minecraft. and after installing it I'm having this issue with text.

I installed and it runs perfectly fine other than this issue with text, which is preventing me from actually starting a game.

I have minecraft but I can't seem to get it running either I don't really know what to do here.

What's your graphics card? It doesn't sound like a high end machine so the GPU could but an issue.

It looks like the command prompt window open in that screenshot might have an error message ("ERR") - could you copy+paste the output from there here? (Right click, "select all", enter)

I also see something from Java in your system tray- are you on the latest Java version?

Yeah your computer is not advanced enough probably. And why would you play minecraft when there are games way better that are actually worth your time.

Mintest dosn't is based on C++, not java and it actually dosn't run passed the loggin screen, after several minutes of loading it started pumping out errors loading graphics on the command prompt, the FPS was around 5

Yeah it's not running the hardware needed to run it.

Well that's your opinion not mine, I enjoy building and survival and that is what minecraft lets me do.
I'll be getting a decent gaming laptop soon though, so that's good. I've found a site with plenty of old windows 98 games to play in the meantime.

Knowing the error messages might provide some clue, but without recent 3D acceleration (which it sounds like you don't have) I doubt this could meaningfully run.

Minetest is indeed written in C++, and uses the Irrlicht rendering engine. This supports OpenGL and Direct3D, so depending on what you(or the makers) chose for a rendering backend, is what determines what you see.
All I can suggest is to reinstall your graphics card drivers and reinstall or update DirectX/Direct3D.

Could you tell us those? I could come to a better conclusion based on those. Put it on Pastebin or similar, but do redact anything you think might be too personal and identifying.

Ah, shareware, isn't it? That was going out of style when I started using computers seriously, which was about 2005.

It could be that all the files didn't unzip properly find a decent unzipping program and go through all the aux files for the mod. If that doesn't work, I agree with the previous comments... You need a stronger build. Hope that helps :D
