How could I hide my scars on my hip?

My family(mum,her girlfriend and my little brother) and I are going to the beach tomorrow.I have a lots of scars on my hip and they obviously don't know about it.I'm afraid they will notice and I really don't want to talk about this with them.My mum judges everybody!Any ideas?

Well if you swim then all makeup you put will probably be washed away, so covering with makeup is not the best solution. But if you have one piece bathing suit then it will cover all scars so that is your best option for sure. Other thing you could do is not to go to the beach at all...I'll do that this summer cause I have a lot scars on my thights. That's a bummer though but I really don't know what else you could do. :\ I hope someone wll give you better solution. -xx

Wear a pair of shorts over the bottom of your bathing suit. Most people don't think twice about it. Just say you're more comfortable like that. I do it all the time because I'm just uncomfortable in bathing suits, self-harm aside entirely.
