well I saw the movie today and to be honest it really wasn't worth my time but still a good movie.
I would not recomend this movie if you are sqeumish because it got really scary at parts.
So if you have time go see it. I was surprised how great Will Smith did in this movie. It's just a new type of Will Smith that no one has seen.

It was more sad than it was scary. I liked it up until the very end when it just ended suddenly without much explanation. But overall it was a good movie

Yeah it was sad for a while since Will Smith died:(
But if he hadn't denied that there really was a survivor colony then he would have lived.
I can't imagine being the last man on earth. Can you imagine no sex?lol

Yet if he just bailed, then he wouldn't have been able to find the cure.
I can't imagine being the last man on earth. Can you imagine no sex?lol
Actually I can. I've gone this long already.
But if I was the last man on Earth sex would be the least of my worries.

The only thing that bothers me (I wouldn't refer to it as scaring me, I would refer to it as catching me off guard) is when there is a sudden change in sound, and the sound is really loud and freaky (in the movie theater). The sounds sometimes send shivers down my spines because I'm like what the f***??? But most of the content of the movies doesn't scare me, though there are somethings that even I find to be a bit overly gruesome that make me wanna throw up (but don't exactly scare me). Never got to see I am Legend, and don't plan on seeing it any more... so yeah.. sounded like a good movie though.. :D

I think the film had some really interesting (and thought-provoking) ideas! :D
But I was gutted about the dog... :(

I agree with that how it was rushed. It was just too fast after the dog died. I almost cried at that scene

~~WARNING: SPOILERS.~~
~I MEAN IT, THERE ARE SPOILERS, SERIOUSLY.~~
I actually really liked this movie a lot more than I expected to. I'm really into futuristic apocalytic (in this case, post-apocalytic) movies, and TBH, I expected the infected humans in this to be as disappointing as the zombie creatures from Resident Evil, just wandering around in a stupor, moaning and going "Bwains ... bwaaaaains!", but they were actually really cool.
I really loved the scientific element of this movie, and I must admit when he had the captured female in his lab, and he'd just injected her with the serum and she reared up screaming, I did jump a bit. XD It was sad how the mutated measles virus had managed to jump from species to species though (such as rats and dogs) as that's usually a very rare thing to see. I was almost in tears when his dog Sam was biten and got infected when they were attacked, that was so upsetting. And then having to strange her ... awww. :(
I wasn't too thrilled with the ending though ... I felt as if it was really rushed, as if about fifteen minutes of movie had been cut off. What I seriously want to know is, how did Anna and Ethan make it to New York (from where ever they'd come from) a) in a working car, and b) I'm assuming it would have taken more than one day to get there, and if these creatures really have a nose for blood, how where they not hunted down at night?
Overall, great movie, but has a few holes in it.

Agreed, Lauren. I wondered about how they got to New York myself (although I suppose they could have been fairly close by from the start), as well as how they got out of the car and into the house safely after saving, oh whats his name, Will Smith's character (after-all, it WAS at night, wasn't it? Or did the sun come up just in time and I'm forgetting?). Overall though, it was amazing! I almost cried when he had to put Sam down. I still can't listen to that Bob Marley song without thinking about it. For someone who's struggled with a fear of the dark for her entire life though, well, the night after I saw the movie was a tough one, haha. I knew I wasn't going to get attacked by the diseased zombies, but I was still really jumpy. I also don't get why he had to kill himself! If he was smart, the hidey-hole would have had a tunnel leading out somewhere. The lab didn't seem to have windows, so the sun wouldn't hurt the zombies, and the hidey hole would really only be safe until you were forced starve to death in there. And come on, there was room for him in there, he could have squeezed in, tossed the grenade, and shut the door. Hmph. Haha, so yeah, those are my thoughts. Overall it's a movie I'd consider buying on DVD though.

Anyone else see the alt ending?
It's like...weird, and he doesn't die in the alternate version :\
Oh, and I still dont get, even if he got the cure, how would he inject it into all of the people with the virus?
Sugaree
March 24th, 2008, 11:16 AM
No I haven't gotten the DVD yet so I don't know.
Well if he injected other ppl with his blood, then those people would be able to inject that part of the blood into the ones infected with the virus and it goes on. But when he met the other ppl then they could have helped I think.

Lol its an awesome movie and i think that Will Smith is like my favorite actor. The alternate ending is kinda....weird. It kinda ruins the whole action scene personally. But i guess thats why they didnt use it :D

****Spoilers below****
I thought the ending was rushed too. Anna was only in for like 20 minutes, when she's one of the main characters besides Will Smith. The ending was terrible, but it was pretty stupid. Will Smith couldve threw the grenade and went inside the hole too.
I wish the dog didnt die, that was really sad. Scary moments thoughout the movie. Overall rating was pretty good. 3 and a half out of 5 stars.
