After 20 hours I finished the game.
Man.
It deserves all those 9.5/10s and 10/10s which has been given to the game.
At first I was like "Okay the story's not bad and the gameplay is ok." But the last one hour of the game is enough to give it a 150% score.
I recommend this game for everyone out there. It is both a gaming masterpiece and an emotional adventure.
Man.
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan.
I really wanted to cry at the end.

I agree, very few games ever get me emotional but that one did. I honestly felt really sad about the entire ending/game.

I know it killed me too. Do you think Naughty Dog will make a squeal? I do see potential for a squeal...
Also have you tried the online multiplayer mode, Factions?

Not many things reach me on an emotional level... especially not video games, but I cried harder when Ellie was getting Joel out of the University than I did in GOW3 when Dom died... and I bawled my eyes out. :(

First, I want to say that this was the greatest singleplayer I've ever played in terms of storyline. The writing was perfect and there's absolutely nothing I regret about this game. Now in terms of gameplay, it was somewhat decent, not bad, not great. Graphics were pretty good, but nothing monumentally great. I borrowed a game, and I can't say I'd pay $60 for it, but it's a kind of game that I can replay every so often and be a happy man. If it ever goes on sale, it's something I'd have to get.

I agree. I can't think of a single videogame that made me as emotional as this one. The Walking Dead was somewhat close, but it wasn't as good.

This.
Just goes to show that Joel will do ANYTHING to keep and protect Ellie (his second "daughter"). And I love that, even though it's borderline obsessive.

If they do make a sequel, it would contain different characters (from what I've heard). They established a great universe, and I've heard that the developers don't want to "milk out the franchise" with the same characters.

I didn't cry, but I just felt so attached to Ellie and Joel that it hurts to think that it's all over. It's one of the few games I really want to forget playing and start from the beginning.

"Everyone I have ever cared for has either died or left me. Everyone... fucking except for you!"- Ellie
Best Quote ever! :D
I haven't played the game that much mostly because the clickers scare the living shit out of me :(

I don't think they will make a sequel, though I hope otherwise.
No, I haven't. How is it?

It looks like its such a beautifully built/created game! I just have a fear of playing video games that involve zombies alone! Yes, including COD Zombies, I at least have to play multiplayer to feel unfearful.
I may just have to play this game though, but to be honest, hearing its created by the same creators of the Drakes Series kind of turns me off. I was never a fan of That series.

Such an amazing game, glad someone started a thread for it. I'm playing right now on my second play through.
As for a sequel, I've read that apparently Naughty Dog want to end Joel and Ellie's story there, and any subsequent game will feature new characters, which I'm not too keen on because I really like Ellie. I don't think a sequel is even necessary, but I wouldn't mind if they made one.

The Multiplayer is just as methodical as the game is. You can't rush very much and stealth and teamwork is encouraged. Like I said the game is quite methodical. It feels a lot like you're playing the campaign.

Yeah I've heard this as well but I think you might never play as Joel or Ellie again but I think the story or the characters might cross paths again which would be interesting.
I think they might leave the series for another year and maybe focus again on Uncharted. Mind you with the next gen consoles coming this could be heck of a game as it was stunning on current gen, think of what it could look like on next gen.

Yeah I've played several games. I am a still very little bit lost, but I must say multiplayer is well thought and it isn't a run and gun, which I hate.
Although I hate the fact that you start with very little ammo, it is realistic that it is so.

Damn, I'm hearing so much good about this game. I haven't picked it up yet, but I've seen gameplay and commentary to go with this, so I don't think I'm missing out on too much.
I'll definitely get this soon. It looks too fantastical and awesome.

I like how methodical it is, rather than a Run & Gun Game
Once you've gained parts you can buy ammo. I generally have my build set up like this:
Class - Medic
Revolver
Perks
Covert 2
Reviver 2
First Aid Training 2
That makes up my class and I can get tons of parts from just healing and reviving my team.
I don't do that great but I hold my own.

I think I'd prefer another Uncharted sequel (provided it's good) before a sequel to The Last of Us. Not that I don't love TLoU, because I do, more so than Uncharted, in fact. I just enjoy the fact that TLoU is a standalone game. I'm definitely not opposed to a sequel, though.
So, I was on another forum where I'd started a thread for this game, and we were discussing the implications that David wanted to keep Ellie as his sex toy, and that Bill and Frank were in a relationship (or at least that Bill is gay). The David/Ellie thing is fairly obvious, but I didn't notice the Bill/Frank implications, because they were more subtle. Basically, take in the fact that Bill referred to Frank as 'somebody that I cared about,' before stating that they were partners, his emotional reaction to Frank's death in a world where death is common, and I noticed that the porn magazine Ellie picks up only features men. Interesting.
Also, as for DLC, I'd like to see a single player mission involving Tommy. I personally felt that Tommy was one of the least interesting characters in the game, perhaps quite underdeveloped compared to the other characters. He has potential to be a great character, and there's mention of the tough times he and Joel went through after the outbreak, and his time with the Fireflies, but I don't feel that we get enough of a chance to really learn much about Tommy, which makes him feel quite bland. I think this could so easily be rectified with a DLC mission involving Tommy, maybe even a mission solely about Tommy. Or, alternatively, a mission set between the prologue and the present, detailing what happened between Joel and Tommy.

o yes i only realized that david wanted to keep ellie as a sex slave right before she killed him, i at first thought he was a good guy when they first met,
that part when ellie picked up the magazine was hilarious something like "how can they walk around with that big"
i felt joel shouldve let ellie get operated on even though she was like his 2nd daughter and such a good character, i was just standing there in the room for like a minute waiting to see if there was a alternative plot, but no
so how did you kill the doctors? i decided to make it more fancy and used my two last arrows
also, what was your favorite weapon in the game? i loved the molotov and bow, stealth was amazing

I attacked the doctors by shooting them in the knee because killing them seemed a little harsh, I mean it wasn't like they were attacking me (except that one doc, I used my last us of machete mele weapon to take him out ).
They've confirmed single player DLC for TLOU so that could be interesting.
