I have always wondered this and i am finally asking it. Do girls check out/ make comments on each other in gym locker rooms? Like lets say they are changing and someone isn't wearing a bra or are wearing a thong, do people stare or make comments on each others bodies?

I haven't noticed it to much.
I mean, it probably does happen.
But not as often as you'd think.

I don't have P.E. anymore but I noticed if other people were uh.... not fully clothed... in the locker room. Not that I ever said anything.

My school is a little weird so I'm pretty sure it's not the same everywhere else, but if a girl walks around the locker room in a thong other girls will notice, talk to each other about it a little, but not tell her, at least here. I never knew anybody who commented on someone else's body though. I think girls tend to do that silently.

I think as a species we're pretty competitive, so in general people check eachother out.

But, talking with a lot of girls (and even reading stuff around here), what's really clear is that guys are much more insecure with themselves and their genitals (I'm assuming that's what you're asking, right?) than girls are.

im my experience its never been a big deal. every now and then someone will say something but usually only like if its a close friend or something. everyone kind of changes really fast and "keeps their eyes to themselves" it seems like, lol. i think everyone's kind of self conscious so doesnt want to 1. risk being given a hard time or 2. push anyone else's self consciousness!

I think we all notice if someone is getting changed, but we usually save our comments for when the person has clothes on. Which is kind of funny.

I agree with the genital insecurity part, but thats only because its on the outside for boys, therefore it can be seen. As humans, we pass most judgment from the information we collect with our eyes, a visual stimulus. Therefore, the penis is open to judgment because it is on (almost) full display. Vaginas on the other hand, cannot fully be *seen*, therefore, less judgment is passed on them...less, not none.

As for boys being more insecure with "themselves" than girls, id have to disagree. Girls can be just as insecure as boys about their bodies...in fact, possibly more so.

We girls always talk about each other, to each others face. We aren't shy!

I had an 8 year old random stranger (A little girl) come up to me in the shops just to tell me I had big boobs! (The only reason I know that she was 8 is because she said to me "I'm eight! How old are you? When I'm your age will I have boobs as big as yours") It was hilarious!

And at the first birthday party I went to in High School We all slept in just our bra and boxers. At one point none of us were wearing bras!

Most girls that I know are totally open to conversation about their bodies ^^

um, i guess no one really talks about each others bodies, its just kinda normal, u get changed and thats what the lockeroom is for, nothing else.

Incredibly old thread. The original poster still has a post count of one, and I doubt he's still checking this after posting in December 2007.
