best monitor?

ok, so i'm a photographer and i'm looking for a computer monitor that will best display my images. Im thinking that a monitor with a high ppi density will give me a sharp image, right? How will I know, how well the color reproduction is on the monitor? And What brand of monitors would be the best?

The best thing to do is to go to your local computer store and take a look at the demos they have there. If you know they have internet access you can use, find an image that you think looks nice at a high ppi. Remember where it is on the internet, and see if you like how it appears on various monitors.

Or, ask the salesperson there. But be an intelligent customer: the expensive ones are not always the best, per se. Always ask to demo them before making a choice.
