View Full Version : Being Circumcised

I would like to ask advice from the people here. I was circumcised 6 years ago, when I was around 10 years old. After doing my researches, I found out that my circumcision is a "dorsal slit" only. The foreskin is still attached to the penis but is in the underside and the frenulum intact. I am considering having another circumcision to remove the foreskin and the frenulum and to have a cleaner looking penis. What are your opinions? Anyone tried having a recircumcision?

You should leave it alone unless you are having physical problems, they did you a great favor not removing the foreskin, and "cleaner" look? all in the eye of the beholder. I think a "natural" penis is awesome looking...

Absolutely not, although common (but certainly not universal) within the US, the majority of men in the world are not circumcised.

What i mean with "cleaner" is that because all the foreskin instead of covering the whole corona of the glans, is all on the underside of the penis. It looks like layers of skin on the underside. Thanks for the help and advice!

Ah... I see.... But the frenulum seems to be just a thin vein or something like that.... Thanks as well!

You should just leave it alone. Its fine the way it is.

if there isn't a medical reason to remove it I would leave it alone

i was circumcised at infancy and had a regular "clean cut" i guess. id rather be uncircumcised and would give anything to get that feeling and sensitivity back

Someone on here described having a circumcision, and they said it was not awful. I guess everything depends on how you feel about your penis and if your foreskin is really bothering you. Honestly, you cannot go wrong either way getting everything removed or keeping it, and I think it is a personal choice at this point. If you really don't like the way your penis looks, then getting circumcised again is your best bet; if you can live with a little extra skin, then I would leave things alone.

Or you may be just imagining what feeling and sensitivity you would have if you
were uncircumcised. A number of men circumcised as teens or adults have reported
sex is better afterward.

Would you cut your lip off if it made kissing better? No of course not, your lips are there for a reason and the same goes for the foreskin. While some people who are circumcised as teens or adults may say that sex is better, that's probably because their parents didn't start to roll the foreskin back when they were little like they were supposed too and by the time the kid got older the foreskin got too tight and/or wouldn't retract. And the science about what happens to the penis after circumcision is reason enough to stop doing it and yet its still happening in the name of "looks". if people opened their eyes and realized that a penis is a penis who cares if its "clean looking" or whatever. Its a penis. if it does its job then whats the problem. I guess i can understand if its a religious thing, but just because its the social norm doesn't make it right. Maybe if the kid had a choice, and instead of doing it in infancy, (provided the parents do their job and start to roll it back in the bath when the kid is still young) try waiting until the boy is 16 or something and can choose what he wants for himself. Maybe then everyone would realize that there is nothing wrong with the way its supposed to be. People say they love being circumcised because they dont know any better, and there lies the problem.

Leave it be. It would be painful to get the rest cut off

I would get a doctors advise to see if there is any actual reason to do it, but i would try to get it restored since it's only a dorsal slit because i personally don't like being circumcised but if you are truly uncomfortable with how it looks i would suggest doing what you feel would benefit you more in the end :)

Not at all, only 1/5 of men in the world is circumsized.

I'm circumcised well ever since I was an infant. Mine is pretty good I don't have that skin overlapping anything. I don't think you need another one. But if you want to have one go ahead

I agree it may only create more problems for you.

Hey I sort of agree with the rest of your post, ie doing it for "social" reasons is a bit odd to say the least.
I do however really take issue with that closing comment, having been sexually active circumcised and not, I Love it... There is a difference between sex cut and uncut for sure, is it major? NO. Which is better? both are great ;)
I dont come form a country where it is the "norm" in fact being cut I am the odd one out. I needed it doing for at least 3 years prior to plucking up the courage to go to the docs about my problem.
It does seem odd to me that most lads who have to have the operation after being sexually active dont have an issue with it, those who have it done as kids do. Ignoring the body rights issue, I wonder if those cut as babies and say uncut is better are the ones who dont know any better?

this may help i've been looking into it and as far as i can see the only reason to do it would be if you really wanted to be completely cut.

Mine doesn't have any extra skin and I've never heard of being circumcised and having skin leftover on the bottom. if it's painful or you are really unhappy with the way it looks i don't think it would be wrong to get the skin removed completely.
