This is my first poem, I am very new to this, hope you enjoy!

Timeless Expectations

The sound of each key leaving my hand
Striking each note as fast as my finger can land
Staring out into the crowd, an abyss of eyes gaze at me
Watching, and taking in my melody
I pride myself in playing with so much grace
My song is interrupted by tears rolling down my face
They hit my keys and almost hinder my pace
The keys smooth as silk
The liquid on them I now see as milk
Nourishing my song, making it real
Upon the piano I place a seal
One that will keep my soul
On the black keys of coal
The white keys of purity
The piano keeps my security
I know in my heart my music will die
This last night has become nigh
My memories fade as quickly as they come
My heart becoming a quieter drum
Echoing in the vastness of my work
My mind has a tendency to lurk
I try to remember the life I once had
Sometimes good, but mostly sad
Staring upon my true love
Watching her fly away like a timeless dove
I now sit here in the cold
No one to ask me what my eyes behold
I wait for the shadow to become real
Waiting for something to grimace and feel
My hands are shaking against my table
I am trying to keep them stable
Slowly trying to emulate each note
To finish something I have not wrote
A white sheet blankets my legs
The wish to move again is something they beg
But I must stay focused on my task
For this piece shall be my last
My fingers moving near a dish of cold food
My playing becoming more crude
The machines I use to keep my beat
My body is slowly loosing it’s heat
I have lived a full life , although not always fun
As I take my last breaths, my masterpiece is done
I wait for the light to shine
I will find a cloud that is mine
Upon it a piano shall rest
It’s tuning slightly better than the rest
An audience shall be there
Listening with intended care
All my struggles will be gone
Playing until the brink of dawn
There is not much time left to think
My body begins to sink
As I venture forth into a world with no pain
I have only hopes to gain
I wish my passion was known
An unknown world I could have shown
But now I lay to rest
Knowing I have done my best
I say goodbye to what could and could not be
I present to you my sweet sounds of my final symphony
