My boyfriend of 2 years [minus the week we broke up 2 years ago] is moving to the Seattle area in the next 6 weeks. There's no realistic way for a 14 and 13 year old to maintain a distance relationship [Kentucky & Washington state]. He thinks we should break up and quit being intimate together pretty soon because he thinks it'll be tougher the longer we keep things up.

What do you think?

We truly care about each other a lot as we've always [for over 10 years] been best friends. We plan on trying to remain best friends after he moves. Since it's inevitable that we NEED to break up -- what's a good time to break up? I want to wait until he leaves to break up but he thinks we should do it in the coming weeks and go out with a bang.

It depends on how much you care about each other.

You don't have a lot of options and this is always tough.

My personal advice would be to do as he says, break up now and it will be less tough when the time comes.

You've said a long distance relationship will never work and you're right I mean you don't have much of chance of meeting up at that age every now and then and again, at your age its maybe best if you both separate now and save some heart ache.
