View Full Version : Does anyone hate songs with a good message?

When I say good messages, what I mean is songs that say things like "you're not alone" or "you're made beautifully" or "you're born this way". I guess I hate songs that make you love yourself the way you are.

A great example is "Born This Way" and "People Like Us".

Is anyone else like this? Why am I like this?

I can like the messages in the songs, but in it's entirety, I can dislike a song. Like, while I like the message in "Born this Way" the song doesn't appeal to me and I don't like the beat, if that's what you mean by hating songs with good messages.

Also, some messages get beat into the ground and so I won't listen to them because they get annoying.

I don't mind these songs. The songs that get me are ones which have no message at all.

I mean that song that has the line "She walks like Rihanna" that song annoys me more than one with a message.

I don't mind these unless they're cheesy and annoying with their message. There's a new Bon Jovi song and I like the song musically but the lyrics... trash. This is the chorus

"Never give up
Never give up
Never
Never give up
Never let up
Ever
Never give in
You're an army of one
Never give up
Never give up
Never
Never forget where you're from
Never give up
You're an army of one"

I mean, what in the hell is that, coming from people who have written pretty amazing songs in the past.

Well that's a rather ignorant thing to claim considering the amount of diversity in music, I doubt you hate EVERY single song that has a "good" (really stupid way of putting it by the way) or rather has a "feel-good" message in it, there's too much music out there.
