Why isn't he replying to my text?

I texted a guy and here's what happened:


Me: Hey :)
Him: Morgan!
Hey!
Me: What's up?

He hasn't replied in one hour, and my phone says that he read the text message. Why??

Coming from a guy: he's not ignoring you. If he was, he youldn't respond to your first message. a number of things could have happened.

- The phone died when he was about to respond and he didn't have a charger near by
- Someone took his phone as a joke
- He had to eat dinner, and he wasn't allowed to text during dinner. When dinner was done, he had to do other stuff like chores.
- He lost reception.
- He dropped his phone and it broke.

There are others that could have also happened that I'm not thinking of.

Heh. You would hate me if we texted because I take days to reply. I just hate not talking face to face.
Just give him some more time and if he still doesn't respond, wait until the morning and try again by telling him "good morning" or something similar.
Don't freak out too much. Some people just don't like texting or are busy doing something else. It most likely isn't a reflection of his feelings towards you.

He is just like every other guy. He is probably busy or texting other people.

I sometimes read messages, reply 5 hours later because for some reason I forget I even have a phone, or I forget I even had a message. Hours later, it comes back to me like 'YOU DIDN'T REPLY' or something along those lines and it's like, why do I even have a phone. He isn't ignoring you, like the above users have said, some people genuinely forget to reply. I know I do.

I doubt he's ignoring. Like others said, he either forgot to reply, he got busy, or didn't feel like talking. I do that sometimes when I'm texting. I read messages but don't feel like talking at the moment so I decide to respond later (I forget sometimes and it may take me days). That's why I hate KIK 'cause people know if I read it and then get kinda paranoid lol, no offense.

Sadly -- it's hard to give advice because we're missing information on your relationship & history with him.
It's possible that something came up [phone broke -- battery died -- he got grounded -- he's been super busy]. Or there's a chance you may see things differently and he doesn't agree with you and he doesn't want to be mean.

There are so many things that could have happened so be couldn't reply. My friends do that sometimes and I just joke about it and say something like how are you gonna read it but not reply. Just wait a while.

I know I have typed out a response many times before and thought I hit send, but I actually didn't. Happens all the time, usually realize a few hours later. It's no big deal, he'll respond.
