He's not a traitor. If anything, he's a hero. He gave up his life and everything he worked for just to try to open our eyes. I guess it didn't work, though.
We're giant hypocrites. We don't accept stricter gun registration laws because we want to keep our privacy, but no one seems to give a damn about the fact that the NSA knows what you're doing on Skype, who you're E-mailing and your entire browsing history.
I appreciate what he did, but it's not going to change anything.

He's not a journalist, he worked for the CIA and NSA for many years and pretty much gave away information to newspapers. You don't work for the CIA and then complain about privacy laws being breached, that's like becoming a butcher and saying you don't like blood.

He's a traitor, all right. George Washinton would've had him executed.
We can't have college dropout indangering our citizens, bottom line. I want to know what idiot trusted this kid with this information, and have him fired.

He's a great man the likes of Bradley Manning and Julian Assange and anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot that doesn't deserve the few freedoms they have left in the world.

When did they lie about this? I thought we'd known that this wiretapping had been going on ever since the Patriot Act passed. It's why I'm careful not to visit jihadist websites :)
You want liars? I can refer you to the IRS, the Justice Department, the Administration, and the State Department. To my knowledge, the NSA didn't really lie about anything. Myself, a teenager, assumed this was happening!

But look, he told us the truth. The fact that the NSA is breaking a commandment and is against the law is just WRONG. I dont WANT to be watched. I want to live my life with FREEDOM!

Fugitive Edward Snowden trapped in Russia - Putin
The US authorities have in effect trapped fugitive intelligence leaker Edward Snowden in Russia, President Vladimir Putin has said.
But Mr Putin said Mr Snowden would leave if he was able to.
The former intelligence analyst has been offered asylum in a number of Latin American states, but has no documents with which to leave the transit zone at Moscow airport.
The US has charged Mr Snowden with leaking classified information.

Ehh I'm in the middle about it. While I feel that he that he was trying to be heroic and expose the government, the effort was a little weak. People aren't going to go for it to be honest and he put his life in danger. I feel bad for him, honestly I would have kept tight lipped about it.

How is he a traitor for telling the American public what our government is doing behind our backs? I believe our government is the biggest "traitor" to the American people by covering this up, its probably been happening ever since 9/11. I thank god that someone finally had the balls to alert the American public that they were being spied on and target by their own government.
We live in a age of mass surveillance, the government claims they are doing it in the name of protecting us against "terrorism". Why do I need to see a police camera at every god damn street corner? George Washington would probably be ashamed that the American people are being spied on.

I think what he did was the correct thing, the US government is just a bunch of ignorant people who think they have control over the whole planet, especially since they are obsessed with spying people. I would totally shake his hand.

To some extent he is, but who didn't know they were spying on us. I also hear people say what do have to hide. I personal have nothing to hide so I don't mind and I believe The People blow it out of proportion when they say they need there privacy. They aren't going to message your wife telling her you've been cheating on her for months or tell your parents how many hours of porn you've been watching.

You didn't think that we were spied on before these leaks came out? Come on. Why do you think we haven't had a major terrorist attack in over 10 years?
I sorta assumed this was happening, it didn't really suprise me. I don't entirely agree with it, but people could die because of what Snowden did.
I certainly think this program does need more oversight, however.
