I've built several, although I'm on an IBM computer now, my dad got it free from work (they made a mistake) so i got a brand new comp, so I stuck my 80gb SATA HDD and 1.50gb RAM in it, also my GFX card, nice and fast!

*Fixed Title*
AMD Sempron 3100+ (1.80GHz)
It's hella quick for an average processor.

Sweet I thought I'd go for a amd athlon 4000 x2 processor in my new pc, in all my other pc's I've had intel but the new one is really expensive.

I've got an Intel Core2Duo thing in the other comp, but I don't use it because it has Vista on it, plus my step-dad is a dick-head and won't let me do anything to it.

Go into the BIOS (Press F1 or Del key or something) Then into the hardware monitor, press enter on the CPU fan and enter disable. Should fix it.

As long as the fan (or are you water cooling it?) is running and keeping your CPU cool, don't worry about it. You can probably disable that message too.

Its just a fan, I aint clever enough to figgure out water cooling yet, thanks for that if it stops spinning I'll change it, but i got a thermometer on it and its 4 degrees celcius that seem ok?

4 degrees most definitely does not sound ok. That's almost freezing.

When you first switch on the computer, you'll see a screen before it boots into windows, somewhere on there it will say "Press F2 to enter setup".

My Guess is you probably plugged it into the wrong connector on the motherboard. A lot of times, they are labeled, like CPUFAN, PSUFAN, etc. The processor fan probably got plugged into something besides the "CPUFAN" Connector. Doesn't really matter, but it would probably make it complain like that.

Blahages is right, or some (although very few) fans don't have the yellow or white wire that tells the motherboard how fast it's spinning, so the mobo panics because it thinks it doesn't have a fan!
Btw, pic of my old case:

My case:

Exactly like that except no floppy drive, and Lenovo is IBM. But not bad for a free computer :P
Edit: For some reason that comp is missing the power button lol, it has a brushed alloy power button :D

Yeah it's a handle lol. It doesn;t go as far up as it looks in the pic. It's a nice case for a cheap-ish computer, well made, no sharp, bendy metal bits lol.

My old case would'n fit into my dest because the front stuck out lol, so i had to put it sideways lol.
This computer is great, even though the specs aren't that good it's just so fast! And whisper quiet, which is the complete opposite to my old one lol.

2.4GHz on an AMD is good, the 4600+ stands for the Intel equivielent, so the same as a 4.6GHz Intel processor.
How much RAM did you say you had? I think it was 1GB although it might have been 2Gb lol.
Patchy

January 9th, 2008, 05:32 PM
Thats because you have the graphics built in to the motherboard like you said in the other thread.
The on-board graphics uses your part of your ram as video memory, so when you buy a seperate graphics card the full 1gb will be there!
Patchy
January 10th, 2008, 11:34 AM
cool btw see if i get a new graphics card....will I have to touch the old one at all? like will I have to try and remove the chip from the motherboard?
