Since we have a best assault rifles thread I figured I'd make one for handguns. Simply. What is best Handgun in your opinion? For me its the colt anaconda. Its the Python except in 44 mag. Or the 1911 I love 1911s

Holds only 5 rounds. Has recoik out the ass. Is expensive as hell. And heavier than steel. Yes I can argue that.

you've got 5 shots with a clunky revolver. Do you know how hard it is to reload that in combat?

I've shot them. And I love them to death. But they too heavy and too expensive unless you hand load for it. The recoil isn't that bad to me because I'm used to heavy recoil but for someone new to shooting it would be a disaster

The SAA sucks for what the 1911 was used for. If you personally asked for a 45LC handgun I would most likely hand you a ruger redhawk
I'm gonna hate saying this but its the truth. Revolvers are outdated for any combat. As much as I love them if I'm going to war and picking my own handgun I'd probably pick a Glock 21

Berreta M9 because I would rather have more bullets, meaning I can score more hits with one cartrige. Bigger chances are that I will hit with 15 bullets in my cartrige, opposed to 7 or 6 or 5.
Better that then pistol-shotguns or revolvers which are made to kill elephants. At least I am not shots away from a broken wrist.

I would have to say the CZ-75, Its very comfortable to hold and dead accurate because of the low recoil. Other than the CZ I would have to say glock 21 because you can buy different barrels to shoot different calibers or Beretta 92 because its a very comfortable gun to hold and has very little recoil because of the 9mm.

I like the Colt 1911 for the same reason that I like the AK. It's an icon. There are other reasons such as reliability and that it's chambered in .45 ACP which I really like.. I can't tell you first hand because I don't own a 1911 though. I'm backing it up with the fact that the Weapon has been the standard issued side arm in several wars in history. I also think it is the coolest looking hand gun of all time. One downfall is the price. That should be expected though.
Sorry if that paragraph wasn't well structured. I'm kinda tired...

The 1911 is not reliable unless extensively cleaned every so many rounds.

you dont need to shoot it to have an opinion on how good it is. I have never out of all the guns ive shot shot a glock 30. why? Because ive shot glock 21s like theres no tomorrow and theyre the same thing except the 30 is smaller so i didnt see a need too.

Depends on what your looking for.
Stealth: P99. Small, easy to hide, and famous for its use by James Bond.
Power: Desert Eagle? Powerful Handguns arent my area of expertise.
R.O.T.: Rate of fire. Most handguns are as fast ad you can pull the trigger, but maybe a G18 would be ok.
Ammo Capacity: Again, G18. Machine Pistol is useless without a good amount of ammo.
Price: Depends on were you get your gun.
These seem like reasonable choices to me.

James bond used a PPK not a P99. The desert eagle has jamming problems and a stiff slide release. You get me a Glock 18 and I will love you forever. They so hard to find because they are LE/MIL only. Can you get them? Yes easily? Hell no

I'm not sure since I'm not a huge gun person, but I only have two guns and both of them were my dads since he was in law enforcement, and was really into shooting for sport.
One is an MK23, and the other is a Five-Seven.
I gave my .357 to my mom so I don't have that anymore.

Five seven. Oh Jesus I feel bad for you. If you need 20 shots to take someone down you either have really bad aim or your gun sucks....a lot. Now the MK23 is fucking beautiful. I love HK with a passion. The make great guns that always function correctly.

Glock 17- It's quite powerfukl with a good ammount of ammuntiion.
M1911- The most reliable gun one can own. Especially with a smaller budget.
Colt Python- It has a tendency to be quite accurate with a smooth trigger pull.

I think you got Glock and 1911 mixed up. Glock are cheap and will never fail you. Except the 17 is 9mm ease. The 1911 is powerful with the 45 ACP but will fail you if not maintained and is expensive for a good one. If you compare Glock and 1911 on a price basis the Glock wins hands down.

daniel craig uses the p99, so you where right. the FN five.seven is the best because of the cartridge. it is a bodyarmour piercing round (the same as the P90 PDW) but in a pistol format. MK23 is good and reliable, but the thing is GIGANTIC.

The FivenSeven only has a 40 Grain projectile going over 3000 FPS it rips right through you without damaging shit. The MK23 ain't as big as you think.
