As everyone knows, Plains, Trains and Automobiles is the sub forum for talk about cars... BUT is it a reference to this famous movie? I've always wondered this.... lol

Not to my knowledge, no. Then again I wasn't around when the forum was added so I can't be 100% sure, but I doubt it is :P

I think it's just a coincidence, but who knows.

Probably. I'm not sure but I think that section was made when Kiros (Ben) and Redcar (Alex) were admins. They don't really come on anymore but Ant (Maverick) may know -- he was on staff with both of them.

Redcar and Kiros both retired before it was added... I thought?

Like I said "I'm not sure" :P
When I joined the site the section was already there so I don't know if it was a coincidence or based off of the movie title -- but I think it was a saying before it was a movie title so I can't say for sure.

This is what I think as well; I remembered when it was suggested then added and I think Maverick was an admin, not Redcar or Kiros...

Oh admins and your random retiring habits.
I think I'm actually going to ask Ant about this.

I think so too. I remember seeing Redcar only as retired and Kiros only popped in to fix the webpage.
Wonder.

I remember the suggestion as well. Looking at yours and Mike's join dates, it must've been created sometime in March 2010. That was when Ant was admin, right?
Anyways, I doubt it's supposed to be a reference. I've heard "planes, trains, and automobiles" before but never knew it was a movie.

And yes it's definitely a movie reference. Anyone that hasn't seen the movie needs to ASAP. It's an 80s classic.
