I really hate when I listen to a songs 8 second clip and like it and buy and then turns out to be satanic. I'm a Christian, not as firm as I should be, but en I don't like those lyrics.

So my question is should I really care so much about lyrics I listen to? Also is Dio a satanic band?

There is no "satanic"bands.
I don't think you should care so much about the lyrics of the songs, ofcourse you are entitled to your opinion though.
Its not like the band actually are satanists and are saying they hate god want to go to hell and summon satan to earth, lol, even if thats what they are singing in the lyrics, thats usually not what they really think.
And dio isn't really like that anyway :P

Well how is music "demonic" in the first place? What would make you think that o.o

The realm's bleeding
It suffers -
Old and weak

No further arguing
There is war at hand
The system's failing
Engines running

Then after all
I sense the end is dawning
These lunatics deny the truth

I know I will not fail
There'll be

War
It's now or never
We shall stand together
One by one
This world is sacred
I'm coming home
War
It's now or never
We shall stand together
One by one
This world is sacred
I'm coming home

Coming home

You chase in twilight
And you know
You will be on your own
On your own

The misery shown
I'll be alone in this hour
I'll face the unknown
Witness the end

I'm bleeding, I'm fading
Here in my final hour
When long lost memories return
And a voice keeps calling
"All dead and gone
It's out of hand
Life is in motion"
I'm wishing, I'm fading
"Time to wake up
Face the truth"

I'm sinking
I'm drowning
There's no doubt and no regret
"Time to reveal now"
This is no illusion
It is real
Carry on the flame
It's not over now
Watch me, I will rise
Time to reveal now

I know I will not fail
Anymore

I'm the one forever
All that really matters
Blessed realm
This world is sacred
I'm coming home
War
It's now or never
We shall stand together
One by one
This world is sacred
I'm coming home

Yesterday's gone
There's no today, no tomorrow
I'm raised from the dead
The ritual failed

There at the gates
I'm left alone in this hour
Driven insane
I am left alone

And now I drown in deepest shadows
While the golden hall is sealed
I'm wishing
I'm fading
And I'm part of the machine
My eyes are the eyes of a dead man
And I feel the unholy stream

The source of my power
T-energy
I'm in control

I will live forever
All that really matters
I'm the one
This world is sacred
I'm coming home
War
It's now or never
We shall stand together
One by one
This world is sacred
I'm coming home

I spread my wings
But keep on falling
I should have known
I can see it coming
The war is over
There's whispering in the wind
Just let me out of here
There is no way
There's no end
While all the suffering goes on
All that I know
Is that I'm not insane
It's not over

Yes i do, it sounds like a fallen angel who thinks he is or equal to god, which to me sounds like satan.

It's just symbolism .-.

I believe someone said that "there are no satanic bands" and that's crap, because there are a hell of a lot. But probably none that you've heard.

And no, being concerned about that is NOT weird or silly at all. I'm a Christian, and I listen to a pretty wide variety of music, but mostly Metal. Do you know how hard it is to find Christian metal bands that don't suck. Hard. And the things I listen to sometimes get me down, and I know that I shouldn't be listening to them. That's normal. I mean, you know that saying, "What you put in, you'll put out"? It's true. It seems silly, I know, but listening to music that curses a lot, or is anti-Christian can really impact you. Music has a way of conforming you, making you into whatever it is. If that makes any sense at all.

For what it's worth, I'm a Christian and I listen to bands like Black Sabbath, Motley Crue, Judas Priest, things like that. While their lyrics aren't always pro-Christian (though you'd be be surprised that they have songs that are), I don't listen to those songs for the lyrics, I listen because I like the music. I'm one of the people who don't believe (at least in my case) that listening to this kind of music affects you; I'm absolutely nothing like what you'd expect a fan of those bands to be. And when a lyric comes up that isn't pro-Christian I don't like it, but in the end I know what I believe and what I feel in my heart and God does too so in the end, I just ignore it (a pro of heavy metal: sometimes you have no damn clue what they're even saying) and enjoy the music for what it is.

However, if you truly feel that you don't want to listen to music with "satanic" lyrics (which is up to interpretation anyway unless they're literally saying "hail satan") lyrics, then... just don't listen to it.
