Heres the problem...
I got a gym membership about 3 months ago and i weighed in at 140 pounds. Scince then I have been going to the gym twice a week. And now when I check scales...i'm 145 pounds! I think it has to do with the fact that I havent had a good diet plan, I was wondering if anyone could help me out by giving me some info on a good diet plan. Thanks.

Stop consuming soda, processed grains, corn syrup, and fried foods. Eat whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and dairy.

Well before you freak out, if you are going to the gym regularly you could be burning fat and gaining muscle, which weighs more than fat.
but other than that a good diet like 0= said.

It takes time to lose the weight, for your body to adjust to these changes. Give it time, don;t get discouraged. You're working on lifestyle changes, things that hopefully will stay with you forever. No crash diets or exercise marathons.
There are a lot of good websites out there that can help with diet. Try Googling them, the one's sponsored by the American Dietary Councilor the American Dietary Association (or other professional organizations) are probably the safest.
Just a note of caution: If a diet seems to good to be true, it probably is. Go only with 'approved' diets by professionals, non eof this 'Snake oil' stuff that promises to 'burn' fat immediately.
