Do you belive in aliens? And why if yes or no ?

Also if aliens came to here do you think they will be good or evil creatures ?
For me yes becuase I cant accept that there is 100 billion galaxy and trillions of millions of stars and this huge space and only that rock called earth has life in it

The fact that human life exists proves that the odds are higher than nil. Given the vastness of the Universe I'd say it's not only probable but certain, many times over.

The Drake Equation, although contentious and largely disregarded by scientists, has estimated that the number of civilizations capable of communicating in the Milky Way alone is between 1000 and 100,000,000. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drake_equation

Considering that evolution can happen anywhere, yes. If it happened here, what is preventing it in happening somewhere else?

I believe they have found bacteria and other signs of life in space so alien life does exist, its just most likely not going to be like the classic science fiction aliens

I believe in life on other planets/galaxies, but not necessarily intelligent life like ours...or any of the aliens you see on TV/movies

Aliens exist. I've been abducted... Jk but they do exist there is to much evidence and we can't be alone in this universe.

In my view, aliens are bad but that's just because of media.

If you believe that space is infinite, then the answer has to be yes.

Even if you don't believe space is infinite, it's so vast that the answer is probably.

Though I do not believe any "alien" life form has ever visited Earth.

I don't think so. Though I kinda wish they were. :P I've always wanted to be a super soldier that kills aliens as a career. ;)

Since the processes of teraformation and evoolution can happen on any planet, yes.

I do believe we are not alone, have we ever been visited before? Perhaps, but might just be by accident. Are they good or bad... I'm not sure on this one, as of right now if aliens were to come here, I think they might see us as bad because of all the bad stuff we have been doing to the planet. Now if they are sort of like us, maybe a few decades ahead, but just recently able to do intersteller travel, maybe they would stop and be nice. I think the more advanced they are they would either just ignore us and see us how we see ants. If they are a few decades ahead, just beginning their intersteller era, then perhaps they would stop and maybe investigate us. Perhaps they would even help. I don't really know though, I just can't wait until we finally have official contact. Whether it be good or bad, it will be such a historic moment it would be crazy. I would love to see it happen in my lifetime, will it? Probably not unfortunately.

Aliens have never visited us, at least I believe that.
There are aliens out there though.

Of course there are other life forms out there, considering the number of planets, systems, and galaxies and the amount of time the universe has been here it is obvious that there are other life forms.

Afcors there are beings that have evolved outside this planet.

CharlieHorse

There is definitely intelligent life out there. It's just that we'll never be able to reach or contact them. The universe is too vast.

Yeah, just like any decent Loyalist, I would be honored to kill xenos for the glory of the Imperium.

Back on topic, it is a possibility that there is a civilization on the other end of the galaxy. They would need something like the Warp-drive or the Webway from Warhammer 40k to get to us though.

I for sure believe there are aliens because earth surely can't be the only life sustaining planet in the universe which is so big that it is incomprehensible just how big it is...and if they actually did waste their time coming to our planet there isn't really any telling if they would be peaceful or not because no one has actually met a real life alien that I know of

Harry Smith
June 14th, 2013, 04:54 PM
Yes, they could quite easily be flying over head right now, our radar system could quite easily miss it. I mean if Aliens ever come here in the next 10 years they could crush us instantly, it would be like the native Americans against a King tiger tank.

There is also some evidence in southern american caves that aliens have visited before and helped aide the human race

If there were such thing as aliens, I don't know if I would believe in a God.

Extra-terrestrials have never visited Earth, let alone the Milky Way Galaxy. Although the probability of life on another planet is extremely high, the likelihood that we (humans) ever have contact with them is extremely low. I would assume that their moral compass might be similar, but probably different than ours, so in our perception aliens might be "evil." They're probably just as evil as humans.

No offence, but that doesn't strike me as a very good argument. It's basically saying "I don't want there to be aliens, so there aren't aliens".

Seeing as there are a huge number of galaxies, each with billions of stars, and since most stars have planets, several of them earth like, I find it hard to believe life hasn't arisen on at least one other planet.

There is "life" just not aliens, yet. They've found microscopic life on other planets before.

What? I define alien life as life on a planet other than earth, and having a different origin. How would you define it?

Like, us.

Gigablue

Like, us.

Life like us could have evolved given enough time. The step of our evolution that took the longest was just developing the basic cell. Once a sufficient level of cellular complexity has arrisen, the transition to multicellular life, and from there intelligent life is relatively easy.

Basically, if you have cells on other planets, which I think it likely given the number of planets, I think intelligent life is almost inevitable.

God for bid you might not believe in god! lmfao

There are over 500 billion galaxies, each containing billions upon billions of stars. To not believe in some form of extraterrestrial being is just ignorant. If we were to be visited by extraterrestrials, it wouldn't end well. The most likely scenario is that they've expended all of their resources and have come to earth simply to use all of its energy; which we as humans are doing a pretty good job at anyways.

I don't think aliens would come to earth for resources. There are other planets with many more resources. Also, since aliens would be coming from very far away, there are bound to be resource rich planets that are much closer to them. Furthermore, any aliens that can actually get to earth would need far more than earth's resources, and they would probably be able to make anything they need anyway.

Basically, any aliens advanced enough to pose a danger to us probably wouldn't care about us.

This is pretty much what I'm trying to say I guess. If aliens more advanced than us were here, they probably don't care about us because they ahve probably seen many more civilizations. If it is an alien civilization a few decades advanced than us just finally achieving intersteller travel, they are the dangerous ones. They could either help us be like them or they may come to us to gather more resources. ALiens more advanced than us have no need to interfere with us. I mean you wouldn't stop to help an ant build a nuclear reactor would you?

If we encounter them, it depends what will happen during that first encounter. It might be a peaceful welcome, or a slaughter for the aliens. The outcome of the encounter might probably dictate how we will treat other intelligent alien life.

I do believe they exist and, who knows, they could be on earth as we speak. Earth could be like a zoo to them, and we can't see them.

Maybe they don't want us to know they are here, if they are here.

Freshman year, my crazy science teacher said something that actually made a little bit of sense.
"If there are aliens, then they have been around about as long as we have and are about as technologically advanced as we are. So somewhere in the universe, there could be another classroom just like this with students just like you discussing this exact same topic."

Technecialy, yes. With all of the diffrent galaxys and all of the diffrent plantes, out there somewhere; there NEEDS to be other life forms. If not, that dosent make much sence. The odds are agenst there not being other life.

There are aliens , but if we or they found each other and decided to communicate how would we communicate ?

If aliens came to earth and said there planet was destroyed and no resources available on it and earth's nations made a poll for letting them live among us or to kick them outside the planet what would be ur opinion?
