i honestly dont mean to start an arguement, but, as a wrestler, what are you going to do once you get someone to the ground? pin their shoulders, then walk away? as a krav maga practioner, i would kick you in the groin before you even touched me.

I have been doing Tang Soo Do for over 3 years now, and I got my black belt last month. What a physical test it is when your testing for your black belt at my school... But I was one of the few people to past the black belt test for the first time going for it :)

yes i know that a wrestler does not know how fight, but read what i wrote, and i said i now BJJ, which gives me locks, bars, and chokes. My fighting skills are for defense. I know enough that if i get attack and am in 1v1 i can get my opponent down, in my control, and blacked out or dead if needed. And i also know strikes. but the thing with striking arts is, you can learn them but not really more, unless you are willing to hurt someone.
But still, yes, a Krav Maga practitioner would most likely beat me, but how many muggers out there are krav maga practitioners. I do not get myself into fights if i can help it. But compared to stand fighitng styles, like boxing, karate, tekwando, once they are on the ground, there is little for them to do, unless they also now other fighting styles.

i also know BJJ, and of course, you never want to start a fight, but you've got to deal as much damage as fast as you can in self defense. but krav does teach, albeit sparse, effective ground moves, and what if there was more then one attackers? if you go the the ground against one of them, then you'll get your head bashed in by the other attackers.

but yes, if it even goes to 2v1, you do the art of running, or parkour. Leg it, and leg it as fast as you can to the nearest place with a lot of people or cops. But if it is 1v1, and unless the person i am against is properly trained(military or something similiar) with a combination of my skills, i am fairly confident that I can hold one, and key word there, one attacker off.

yes thats all well and good, but what if you are with a famliy member? would you abandon them? or if the attackers have a gun? id prefer to immobilize them as quickly as possible, for example breaking their knees, and removing any weapons they may have, THEN legging it to the police. or, in a more realistic situation, you get jumped by some school bullies. with bullies, there are almost always atleast three attackers. the primary attacker, the bloke he's showing off for, and the guy to film the whole thing and put it on youtube. now, im not promoting breaking their knees, but youve got to deal with them or they'll just try again the next day with more people. thats my 2 cents. no individual style of martial art will work for every situation. you've got to be well rounded to be effective.

well, yes. If i have a family member, and unless it is my dad(military experience), I would tell them to find the cops. if the attacker has a hand gun and is right behind or in front, i will give him what he needs(easier to replace a wallet, watch, phone than a life) but if they are planning on shooting, I know the Krav maga pistol disarm(don't know what it is really called). but if it is a bigger weapon, no fighting, just gonna do what they tell me, unless they are nervous and i can distract them. As for school bullies, no need to be afraid of them. 6'3'' 220lb. so yea. unless they are willing to attack me, by more than one person, i can easily call on fellow wrestling team mates to help me out.
And yes, I agree very well that you need multiple martial arts to work. Thats why in the military they teach you stuff from different arts.

lol yeah I'm a big time student of several different types of martial arts. Black belt in karate, judo, im a 2nd degree senior level in Sambo, as well as 2nd dan in Krav Maga. Im currently trying to finish Aikido, but my Teacher doesnt think im old enough, and just started in eskrima type fighting style. As to why? idk, I just love to fight, I love the pattern, the detail, and accuracy of martial arts. I want to be idk, completely invulnerable I guess? idk talk to my therapist about it,lol. One day I will reign at UFC.

yes, it's mainly about speed instead of power, the burst defense system is great in Wing Chun, Bruce Lee was a wing chun student, you can look at his videos on youtube
