Note to moderators: I opened the thread to the RotW because I want to keep this based on theories and arguments and evidences.

I want to keep this simple: Do you think your life would have been better if you never "loved" anyone? Do you think love gives humans strength, makes us what we are?

You may also add other "softer" emotions like pity, etc (but not things like fear).

Would you be better off without love? Would we be better off? That way humans would concentrate much more on science.

Or without loving and other similiar emotions we would lose things that makes us human and be no different than some crude brutal beings?

(On second thought, maybe this was better on the Padded room...?)

Without love, we would be practically zombies

A lot of animal species don't have the concept of love, yet they function just fine.

They function on a biological level.

look at the 9/11 phone calls, people who were flying towards there death. They called there family and told them they loved them. Their final words were of love not hate

The answer to this question is yes and no.

Lets see it this way, if I am in a fight, lacking such love will not leave room for doubt, doubt in a fight can make you fail. Love will essentially get you softer and unable to take radical but necessary actions in life. Love will misguide you from your work and deeds. You can function without love.

Yet love can still give you hope and strength to a certain extent.

I would rather be cold as an iceberg than heat my feelings and get them hurt.

Well, Yes.

Because love can ive humans hope and certainty of society's acceptance.

It is especially important for people with major mental disorders (Bipolar, etc.)
