I started smoking, when I was 12, the summer before 7th grade. I still haven't had a period, and even though I have tits (A cups), they stopped growing around the time I stared smoking , I still look like I'm 12.

Can smoking stop puberty, has anyone else experienced anything like that?

I think I've heard that it stunts your growth, so I would say that seems plausible. But you should talk to a doctor to get a reliable answer.

Smoking isn't good at any age, so it probably isn't good for your developmental health either.

Yes -- smoking can affect your development but so can your diet and even some health conditions too.....

Is your family worried about it? Did your parents or anyone in their family start puberty late? If so -- it's possible that delayed puberty is common in your family. Please talk to your mom and doctor about this so they can figure out what the issue is and try to fix it.

For parents (http://tweenparenting.about.com/od/physicalemotionalgrowth/f/LateDevelopment.htm) -- Drinking and smoking can delay puberty (http://phys.org/news203758746.html) -- and Quit smoking (http://smoking-quit.info/tobacco-might-delay-onset-of-puberty) are 3 articles that may help. Sorry -- if the last 2 are the same..

well I can't really talk to my mom or my doctor with out admitting that I smoke. My mom probably knows but if she does, then she's doing the whole 'don't ask don't tell' thing.

Delayed puberty isn't common in my family. I don't think my mom is worried but she asks me from time to time , if I still haven't had my period.

thanks for the links that's useful info.
