So what were people's thoughts on the PS4 Reveal? I personally am very hopeful now for the next generation of consoles as let's face it, the Xbox [-]fail[/-] One was pretty good in some terms I'll admit that. On the other hand with there polices that restrict gamers in terms of connect every 24 hours, used games issues, transfers etc.
Its not a surprise that many are put off by this new way of gaming. I am therefore happy that the PS4 doesn't have all that crap and I'm actually looking forward to picking up one of these when its launched.
Now they might not have the most epic launch titles but they do have a lot going for themselves and therefore I am happy so far with what I've seen.
If you haven't watched it I have included a link to the full conference video.
You can view a close up of the console by watching this video Bzy_4kNldlE#!

I really liked watching the reveal. It really put the XBox to shame.
I'm not sure if I'm interested in any of the games that they showcased (the only game I'm focused on right now is The Last of Us, which is a Ps3 game, so..). Kingdom Hearts 3 and Destiny look like something to check out.
The system itself is a little bit disappointing, but I like it more than the Wii U and Xbox One.

Considering Microsoft's decline from gaming to Television (Check Xbox One's "main features") Sony is looking real good right now. If they don't take the lead in sold consoles I"ll be confuzzled. Hopefully we won't fall in the hivemind and we'll see which competitor will come out on top :D

The design itself isn't exactly orgasmic but remember the original PS3 isn't exactly a great looker and even the slim version isn't exactly amazing but its much more sleek and compact than the Xbox One.
As for the games I'll agree with you but honestly I do like the look of AC4 Black Flag
And that other game with the guy who can use his smartphone to disable electronics, that looks pretty epic.
I also like the look of the new infomous.
The launch games don't seem too epic but they are okay looking.
For everyone wondering what the console looks like from different angles they can visit this site here http://www.computerandvideogames.com/412487/gallery-ps4-console-hardware-revealed/ and you'll see a small slideshow of images.

I didn't get a chance to watch the press conference, plus I just haven't been keeping up with E3. But from the looks of it, they just designed it after a box painted black. Not exactly eye-candy, but I guess I'll roll with it.

It's not the look of the console that matters, it's the hardware within it. And judging by the hardware specs of a PS4, I can safely say that it'll be the best out of the next-gen systems.
The press conference itself was great. I liked the indies showcase. It's odd to see so many indie developers now switching over to Sony instead of Microsoft, considering how much Microsoft played a key role in the rise of indie development.

Yeah, I'm aware. It's all about the hardware. But sometimes the consumer wants his product to look good. Is that too much to ask? But hey, I'll be buying it anyway. It looks like a great system, regardless of its simplicity.
Oh, and btw. INDIE GAMES!!!!

Well yeah but you've got to imagine the compact size I mean with the powerful tech inside the console you must admit that its a good size and shape with all things considering.
Its better than the Xbox One which looks like an old VCR

Yeah I was really surprised with this as well I mean I'm not normally a fan of Indie games as such but this has defiantly turned my attention too them. So I'll be looking forward to this.
Honestly I think its because Microsoft hasn't given them a fair amount of coverage I mean I don't think I saw many indie games at Microsoft conference.
I'm just wondering about Uncharted 4 now.

Well, it's not like you're staring at it while using it. Besides, a box fits much better on a shelf next to other things. In that sense it's better designed than my PS3, because it's round on the top, which means I can't put my PS2 on top of it.
And I don't understand why anyone would want "streamlined" or "sleek" designs, because I don't intend to throw it.
Maybe I'll get one, someday, when publishers have completely moved away from the PS3.

Now we have to pay for PlayStation Plus if we want multiplayer capabilities. I really don't like this and this is the only thing I found negative about the conference. I don't have money(not even $60 a year) to pay for online, I know I can get a job and plan to but my money has more important things to go to than a subscription service I've never used(PS+). One big reason I chose PS3 over 360 in the first place.

Victoria, that's fale information, you don't have to pay for Playsation Plus to have multilayer capabilities.
PS+ gives you some free games and some free content that can be used in multiplayer you can still play online for free, Sony confirmed this.
They aren't going down the same road as Xbox

Umm... Yes they are (http://au.ign.com/articles/2013/06/11/e3-2013-sonys-knock-out-blow). You need PS+ to play online.
The reaction was so overwhelmingly positive that Tretton could sneak in the revelation that you'll now need to be a Plus subscriber to play online multiplayer without anyone complaining. PlayStation Plus is squaring up more directly against Xbox Live now, and though it boasts a better rewards offering with its free games than Live, PSN's track record with cross-game voice chat and (most importantly) security puts it far behind Live at this point in time.
Also, this thread makes you look like a huge PS fanboy, especially since your last thread was something about the XBOne sucking so much. Jus' sayin'.

I have got to say I play Xbox but am definitely moving to PS4. The Xbox One's features aren't great at all. I also believe Destiny will be the next big shooter and since PS4 gets the DLC first that's another big factor for me. :)

I must have missed that, my apologies.
Anywho you are still getting a lot of content when you buy PS+ and you get free games with PS+ and online storage space and a lot of other things.
I'm not a Sony Fanyboy what I am is someone who goes with the console that is going to give me the best not you might ask me why I haven't chosen a PC, well simple fact is, none of my friends are PC gamers.
Like I said, I'm not a fanboy of either company, I go with what system will offer me the most and right now with the mass restrictions of the Xbox One, I'll be picking and supporting the PS4.
Does that make me a fanboy? I wouldn't think so, I wouldn't defend sony to my dying breath.
I'll go with what I think will offer me the best gaming experience.

I've always loved PS4 so I'm gonna get it, I especially like how it's gonna be cheaper and you can play offline and you can play used games on the PS4. Unlike some of its other competitors >_>
Even if it was $700 I would still get it.

I can't say for sure on US prices but it came out in the UK at some retailers at around £499.

Sony have released a statement saying that "free to play" titles will have choice in siding with the PS+ online play.

That's for those who complain about the price. I'd say it's fair. Keeping up dedicated servers ain't easy.

Agreed and I honestly think its even more fair considering they are still allowing us to trade games, we will have no on-line passes and we get a lot of free content with PS+.
So its not exactly like we are just paying money and only getting one thing we are getting a multitude of things.
