Hi everyone...
I am currently LOVING iOS and cannot wait for the final version to come out in the fall...
It does have a few things that need tweaking here and there, but hey, it's the first beta! I'm sure it'll be even more refined by October...

The new iOS 7 home screen looks like it was made by a 10 year old going crazy with photoshop. They say a cleaner look but that's such rubbish. How many designs are going "clean" these days. Windows 8 became clean, Android is clean and hasn't really changed much, Blackberry became clean, and now iOS is becoming clean, it's ridiculous, I really don't know what the hype is around "making everything simpler". Since Steve Jobs 'departure', I must say Apple has completely ruined the reputation it's built for itself. People buy Apple for the eye-candy and the premium-feel. Getting rid of it's trademark interface and making it rather shittier will shift the market entirely.

i like the new UI. it looks fresh. and i also like the fact that they made iOS both simple and colorful, retaining the old appeal of iOS while adding a much more modern feel.

Wow... it's beautiful. Nothing I can't do with a jailbroken ios device, but hey.

I'm sorry was that post too anti-climactic for you :P

it's really really really ugly. The OS features of iOS (which is coming into its 7th iteration) are still behind those of Android (which is currently nearing the end of its 4th). The generation gap alone should be enough to indicate which platform is superior.

I've never liked iOS and iOS 7 doesn't change that for me. I will say, however, I was surprised to see Apple change the visual aspect of it as much as they did. I mean, sure it looks like a very poorly developed Winterboard theme, but hey it's different.

I love the new design and everything, and I haven't even used it yet! I might get the SDK (as I am a Apple Dev.) for the iPad mini when it comes out!

I don't know, I guess the OS is okay. Though this may not be the best that iOS has been, you have to admit that the other the previous versions of iOS are now stale. Apple did need a change, and I feel that this is progress towards a better OS that provides more customization. I guess I just like Android's customization options, so I am happy to see that iPhone is slowly changing for the better. But, as far as the icons go, it seriously looks like a box of crayons threw up on the home screen.

I like the clean look. But it kinda reminds me of the Samsung phones for some reason.
Also, I already have some of those features on my iPad, so it's nothing to special for me.

One thing I've always thought would be cool is if they lit up the home button. Like what Samsung does with their light up touch screen controls (just no touch screen for iPhone 6/5S)

iOS6 was absolutely terrible, and iOS5 was SOMEWHAT OKAY. Assuming it continues this trend, iOS7 will be the shittiest OS ever made.

A friend of mine who is an Apple developer gave me a sneak preview of it. Not sure about it yet. I would need more time to experiment with it and get a feel for it. So far, I'm not really taking a liking to the little circles by the carrier's name; I much rather prefer the traditional tower bars. They better not havw changed the Safari layout very much, or I'm gonna be pissed. Also, it seems very female-oriented as far as the colors and design goes...just my personal opinion.

I will not be upgrading right away, if I choose to do so at all.

It's interesting reading responses on this thread because I'm getting the idea that you either love or hate iOS7.
Personally, I think it looks great. Some might say it looks childish, but I can't say I'd agree. To me it looks like well-created, smooth and seamless software that will refresh the Apple design. They have kept the fundamental aspects of what people know and love about the Apple software, but have also striven to freshen it up at the same time. I am also sure that if Apple had not decided to change up their visuals, people would complain that Apple never try anything different and it's the same old stuff.

It's a thumbs up from me, Apple.

I agree.
Tim Cook ate the apple. And left the rotting core.

what even are "female colors" or "female design"? Like, seriously, this isn't the 1950s.

I'm not trying to make it seem like the 1950s... Not trying to sound sexist, either. All I was saying is that the colors are very bright and in-your-face. Take a look at the new icon designs; lots of pinks, purples, and light blues. They're not atrocious colors, I just felt like it was something that women would be attracted to more than men.

They're just colors, no need to argue about it. I just stated it was my personal opinion. If your's is different, that's fine. "To each his own."

iOS 7 doesn't have that "Steve Jobs" magic anymore... iOS 7 looks like Android...
