I don't know much about current Egyptian politics, but I learned about Ancient Egypt in my Western Civilization class. It was one of my more favorite civilizations to learn about; I like the Old and Middle Kingdoms, Akhenaten is my forte, and I think the polytheism and burial rituals were pretty neat.

I don't know much about Egyptian politics, nor have I ever spoken to someone who's Egyptian, so I can't really have an opinion on something I don't know about.
