I tried binding for the first time tonight. I'm not transgender, more gender queer, but I've always hated my breasts. I used an ace bandage that was sized for chests. When I was done I didnt look any different and it was so tight I couldnt breathe and my ribs hurt like hell. Does anyone have any tips for cinding with an Ace? My parents are transphobic so they cant and wont help. I had to trick them into buying the Ace.

I don't really suggest doing this, Don't be upset by your breasts, remember they're still developing and who knows, maybe they'll turn out like you want them to in time. you might ruin that by doing this now.

EDIT: I googled it and I misunderstood the situation (I should have googled this first.) and if that is what you want go through with it, but if this hurts, try to not use so much presser, just loosen the bandage untill it dosn't hurt your ribcage, we don't want to cause an injury there because you could end up in the hospital for a long time.

Also, why do you hate your breasts?

I dont believe you understand the term transgender. Meaning someome who identifies as a different gender than what they were born as. Most likely she wants to cover up her breasts as to have more of a male feeling.

I hear you. I'm fine as a girl, but I don't really consider myself to have a mental gender. I don't wish to get rid of my breasts, I just wish they were As or something, so I'd have the option of wearing a push-up cup if I wanted to have breasts, but also be able to go without a bra and just be me.

Kind of depends on your size, love. I wouldn't recommend an ACE bandage for bigger than a B or C (depends more on your band size, though, cup size doesn't say much. I'm a B and an ace bandage usually does the trick for cosplay) and definitely not for daily usage. If you didn't see results with the ACE bandage, I would probably get a binder which is designed exactly for this purpose, but I don't know how you'd get it at your age and with parents that are transphobic. You could also try getting a cami a size too small; I usually put one over the binding before the costume. As well, I have to agree binding at this age isn't an amazing idea, but I don't personally have experience with binding while still developing.

If your RIBS are hurting hun, I really would toss the ACE bandage.

ACE bandages aren't usually a good idea for binding because the material, from my understanding, doesn't breathe and ends up restricting you to an unhealthy extent. As Rith said above me, I would definitely suggest getting a binder if you can find some way to do so. Binders are much better for flattening the chest and still allowing you a range of motion and breathing room. As far as what type of binder is best, I don't know nearly enough about them to be giving that kind of advice. But ACE bandages can be severely detrimental to your health, especially when worn on a daily (or somewhat regular) basis. Be careful.

I want to get an underworks binder when I'm old enough, but for now theres not much I can do. Im a B40 bra size. I tried using the ace bandage but it hurt too much and I couldnt see any difference so I took it off.

Hey...I'm FTM. I know that sometimes it can be really tough when we don't like parts of ourselves, especially those that are physical. If you ever need to talk, I'm here. My parents are pretty transphobic so I use this, which should be safer than the ACE bandage:
