Yes hair coming through the skin can itch, I think thats what it is, but just in case do you have a rash? or is it just itchy?

It's probably just hair growing in. It could also be dry/irratated skin.

Yeah it might be hair, but sometimes i get random rashes down there to for no apparent reason. Dry/irritated skin like Bobby said. I think that baby powder works wonders; or lotion, try it out!

Yeah, it isn't an STI. Itching down there can be a lot more freaky (because it's down there), but the same rules apply as anywhere else. It's a sort of sweatier area that tends to be more prone to irritation. But, really, it's not much different than your armpits or any other area with similar sweating and rubbing. The suggestions you have are very good.

I've never heard that hair growth is itchy. And if you've got a wide spread itch for 3 weeks Robert, it might be time to tell your folks and see what they say. It could be a rash or a minor skin infection, but after 3 weeks, it should have gone away on it's own. Might be time for some treatment.

It can definitely be, for the same reason that hair sometimes itches after shaving. The hair grows in in a way that causes it to irritates the side of the shaft, and the irritation causes itching. It's much more common after shaving, but I've also heard about it when it grows in.
