Yes we've all seen those movies that over the course of a few hours show how it happens. But in reality what was it like for you when you first became someone's girlfriend/boyfriend, how did it happen?
If it's a long story that's ok!

Honestly i have no idea how i managed to start dating my current boyfriend. It just sorta happened. We met on a dating site and the day we met online we met up irl and we went bowling, went to starbucks. He kissed me when he drove me home and after that we started dating. Been dating almost eight months now.

First you should be really good friends and be yourself and comfortable.

I met my girlfriend when I moved to this town 13 years ago, I was 4 at the time. We went to the same pre-school and our mom's became good friends just as we did. Basically since as long as I have known her everybody has just expected us to end up dating one day, partially because it's a small town (911 people when I moved here, finally up to a staggering 2,700!) and partially because it just always seemed like it was going to happen. During the summer before 9th grade we had been hanging out with some friends like usual, we got to talking and then kissed. That's just sort of where it happened, from there we did more together, just us, and things have just gone from there. Beginning of July will make 3 years for the two of us!

I have no clue honestly. I usually take a lot of time to at least become their friend and get to know them because, unless you look like Brad Pitt and have a love guru's charm, I doubt most guys just walk up to a girl and strike up a serious relationship within a couple of hours of meeting her.

I said, "do you want to be my girlfriend?" and she said "yes." Exciting stuff.

That happened to me though o.o it happens to people. Not all the time obviously, but sometimes. like i said, i met my boyfriend one day online and the same day we went on a date. now i've been dating him for almost eight months.

Of course there are exceptions. Especially when it comes to dating sites where the sole purpose is to, you know, find a date. Most guys our age, however, rely on going out with girls at their school, clubs, parties etc where the main focus isn't always romantic relationships like dating sites and guys can't really be 100% sure if a girl like them or not at first. This, in turn, usually involves getting to know her before actually pursuing a serious relationship (no I'm not talking about booty calls or one night hookups) which can take a few hours or a few weeks depending on the girl and the circumstances. Rejections, friendzones, and many other possibilities are very real, and often discourage some guys from trying too often with too many girls. Such is the harsh reality of dating, it's easier for some than for others just like any other social phenomenon.

Basically, it's two people drawn together by friendship and common interests
