I'm a 14 year old boy in the UK. I pretty much won't talk to anyone, If i'm walking along the street and I see anyone who looks 12+ I get really self-conscious and try to avoid them as much as possible. I'm in year 9 and I go to an all boys school, and I only have about 10 friends who all live about 30 mins drive away. Also, I haven't spoken to any girls properly since the end of year 6,(except 1) and I find it really awkward when I do.
The only girl I talk to always calls me cute and is the only person i've told some secrets and stuff.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could make friends, talk to people, or become less shy.

Try hanging out with your existing friends more. Once you get comfortable around them try hanging out with some of their friends while there around. Trust me, hanging out with people when mutual friends are around usually makes it MUCH easier. Best of Luck man, really.

Hey, i know the feeling if i was you, spend time with the girl and perhaps get her to intruduce you to her friends maybe. For the school you could always ask people there intrestes, hopefully you might find one you and them both enjoy. As mentioned above, you could join a club inside/out side school.

Sports. Give you something to talk about, forced to be around people and it grows from there. Can't imagine not having girls at school!

Are you interested in any sports/clubs that your school offers? If so, maybe you could try and join them.
